I hope this column doesn’t lay an egg. When you see the first question, you’ll understand why. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s go.
Which wrestler would lay the tastiest eggs? (NB: RED ROOSTER WAS A ROOSTER AND GOBBLEDY GOOKER WAS A GOBBLER SO COULD NOT).
Luchasaurus is a possibility since dinosaurs lay eggs, but since he’s over a million years old, I don’t think the eggs would be very good. Jake “The Snake” Roberts has laid many eggs over the years (see Heroes of Wrestling PPV), but snake eggs, like dinosaur eggs, probably aren’t very good. Rip Hawk was a legend back in his day, but he was also a scary-looking man so I doubt the eggs were tasty. Let’s go with Chick Donavan. A Georgia mainstay for many years, he also wrestled under the “Nature Boy” character and was a pretty good wrestler and talent. And his name, Chick, if that doesn’t make you think of a good and well-balanced breakfast, then nothing will.
Do you think this whole dilemma with Scorpio Sky and Sammy Guevara is just AEW lost on narrative pivots cuz they don’t want to split Men of the Year or turn Sammy?
I think this was a way to help build Scorpio, allow Sammy to do a subtle heel turn with Tay Conti, and build towards a Scorpio feud with Frankie Kazarian. And it’s working.
How long do you think it’ll be until Lilly persuades Alexa Bliss to join Edges Blue Man Group?
I don’t see that happening since Alexa seems to have returned, for the moment at least, as a baby-face, but then again, with crazy psychopath dolls, you never know. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
With HIAC on the horizon, do you think that we’ll get Edge and Priest vs AJ and Balor in the cell? If not, who do you think will have a match inside the cell seeing as Roman Reigns is set to miss the premium live event?
Edge and Priest taking on AJ and Balor inside the Hell In A Cell cage sounds like a good plan to me. I’d like to see it happen and that, as current storylines are going, seems like it might be the plan. Also, we may see Ronda defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Asuka. Okay, I’m just speculating on that last one, but I want to see it happen. Please, Vince, please!
Is there any chance AJ Styles returns to Impact Wrestling for Slamiversary?
There’s always a chance, but I think we’ll see CM Punk, Vince Russo, and Ryback showing up on Monday Night RAW as a faction with Jim Cornette leading the way before WWE allows AJ to do an Impact Wrestling show, especially given how many AEW talents seem to be part of Impact these days, what with the whole Forbidden Door thing going on. It could happen, but isn’t very likely.
Whatever happened to Vito?
According to Wikipedia, Big Vito LoGrasso, who made a name for himself in WCW, ECW, WWE, and TNA, retired from in-ring competition in mid-2014. He has done some acting work, appearing in movies “The Survivor”, “The Church”, and “Apnea”. He was part of the Concussion Lawsuit against WWE that was eventually dismissed, and if I remember reading correctly, was a part of WrestleCon this past April in Dallas, TX. So he’s still making appearances but seems to be more focused on acting these days instead of wrestling.
Now that the Owen Hart tournament has started this week, who are your picks for both the men and women?
For the Women’s Tournament, I expect to see Ruby Soho and Toni Storm in the finals, with Ruby taking the win. As for the men, I expect to see Adam Cole and “the Joker”, Claudio Castagnoli, aka Cesaro, in the finals, and Cesaro getting the win.
Do you currently enjoy AEW or WWE more?
Despite what my brother tries to say, I am not an AEW guy. I like the booking in AEW better for the most part, but the wrestlers and production are better in the WWE, again for the most part. AEW seems to be better at the long-term storytelling, while WWE has better in-ring performances and fewer botches. So am I an AEW guy or a WWE guy? Neither. I’m a wrestling fan and love and appreciate both companies, as well as Impact Wrestling, NewJapan, AAA in Mexico, Major League Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and the local guys down the road all have to offer. I enjoy professional wrestling. ‘Nuff said!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and be safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
