Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
The Bloodline, Johnny Ace, The Mysterios & More
May 14, 2022
For his name alone, Porkchop Cash belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame. That’s it. That’s my opener. Let’s do the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A.
Who is your Top 5 all-time favorite announce teams in the history of pro wrestling?
For me, I would say Bob Caudle & David Crockett, Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura, Jim Ross & Jim Cornette, Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler, and finally, Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan & Dusty Rhodes.
If you could have your own podcast with any wrestler you choose as your co-host, who would you have?
All of my favorites seem to already have their own podcasts, but I know one guy, who just happens to be local, I’d love to work with and that’s the Fallen Artist, Derk Douglas. And if Derk isn’t available and I need a bigger, better-known wrestling star, how about Heath Miller, aka Heath Slater. I think he’d be fun to work with and I know we’d get along well because we have something in common. My family is from West Virginia too. And there you go.
What is your Mt. Rushmore of Female Wrestling Managers?
This one is tough because there are many great women who worked as managers and valets over the years that don’t get their just due but were awesome in their roles. My Mt. Rushmore of these talented ladies would consist of Woman, Missy Hyatt, Baby Doll & Sherri Martel.
Should Naomi join The Bloodline? How about Tamina?
Considering that the Bloodline is all about family and both Naomi and Tamina are related to Roman andTheUsos, it’s kind of a no-brainer that they would be a part of the group, but the problem is that Naomi is seen as the happy, go-lucky GLOW girl her image and character don’t fit the Bloodline narrative. She would need a total 360 in character change, wrestling style, and image before she’d fit in with the group. And Tamina has the proper attitude and character, but she’s not a good wrestler or talker. She’s there, but her matches and character are about as exciting as Linda McMahon reading the phone book. Her family connections are the only reason she has had a job this long in WWE. She too would need a complete character change and to really step up her in-ring game to fit in with the Bloodline. So should either of these ladies join the Family Faction? At this point, unless major changes are made to both ladies, I would say no.
Ric Flair is planning to wrestle again. Thoughts?
Ric does not belong in the ring again and anyone who would book him to a match or allow him to do so needs to be slapped with a steel chair across their head multiple times. Flair is his own worst enemy and he’s not going to stop until he’s permanently paralyzed or dead. He can’t stand not being the Nature Boy anymore. It’s sad, but he’s delusional and people need to quit enabling his fantasies. So Flair wrestling again? No freaking way!
Meng & The Ultimate Warrior versus Ted DiBiase & Steve “Dr. Death” Williams. Who wins?
Warrior would piss Meng off within two minutes of the match start and Meng would kick Warrior in the face and walk off, leaving Warrior at the mercy of DiBiase & Williams, who would give Warrior an ultimate beatdown before scoring the big win.
Who do you consider the greatest NWA Champion of all time? WCW Champion? AWA Champion? WWE Champion? ECW Champion? AEW Champion? And if all these six men wrestled in a six-pack-challenge for the Undisputed World Championship, who wins?
First, let’s pick the champions. Greatest NWA is Harley Race. WCW would be Ric Flair. WWE goes to John Cena. AWA is Nick Bockwinkel. For ECW, I’ll go with Shane Douglas, and for AEW, I’ll go with Kenny Omega. So it’s Harley versus Flair versus Cena versus Bockwinkel versus Shane Douglas versus Omega. And the winner would be, Nick Bockwinkel.
Does Johnny Ace (John Laurinaitis) belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
He annoys me just as much as he does everyone else, but based on his wrestling career in the ring, his time in All Japan working for Giant Baba, his time in management with WCW and WWE, and his great “
People Power” gimmick, I would say yes. He’s annoying, but he’s far more qualified than a James Dudley or Koko B.Ware, and at least he’s not a habitual drunk driver who kills old men, right? Give him one of those rings.
Should WWE break up Rey and Dominik Mysterio?
I would say yes. Dominik has gone about as far as he can with being the good son and under his Dad’s tutelage. It’s time to be more of an individual and develop into his own character and that means being a solo star and not part of the team of “Rey &”. And truthfully, I think a heel turn on his Dad would be the perfect way to go. If Dominik is to make it in WWE, he needs a big moment to get things rolling, and laying out Dear old Dad would be a great way to get started.
Should WWE give Ronda Rousey a manager?
Yes! Ronda is good in the ring and can handle the physical aspect of being the top woman on Smackdown, but her promo skills are lacking and are not her strong point by any means. WWE needs to do with Ronda what they did with Brock Lensar by adding Paul Heyman to the mix. Paul could do the promos and verbal jousting while Brock does his talking in the ring. It worked very well for Brock and would work equally as well for Ronda. True, Heyman isn’t available, but maybe Paige could do it and play the role. LA Knight is another possibility, and heck, Robert Stone down in NXT doesn’t seem to be doing anything as of late. That’s just three possibilities and I’m sure WWE could come up with about a dozen more easily. But a manager would fix a lot of the problems that Ronda is currently having in connecting her character to the fans and it’s something I feel that WWE really should do.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions, they’re welcome and appreciated. And with that, I’m out f here. Until the next time, take care and be safe. Watch out for the foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.
