Tossing Salt Presents:
NXT World’s Collide PPV
Thoughts & Predictions
September 2, 2022
This is a big weekend for professional wrestling with not one, not two, but three big events, WWE Clash At The Castle on Saturday, while Sunday will bring us the end of an era as NXT-UK comes to an end with World’s Collide, and of course, AEW All Out. That means we’ll be breaking out the Magic 8 Vall, dressing up like Miss Cleo, and playing the role of psychic and fortune teller. In other words, a typical weekend and business as usual. But enough of the chit-chat. Let’s talk pro wrestling and get on with getting on. We’re talking NXT, live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and World’s Collide. Let’s do this.
NXT Championship versus NXT UK Championship
Bron Breakker versus Tyler Bate
This one should be an absolute slobber-knocker of a match and I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes. I’ve only seen Bate wrestle a few times, but every single time, he’s been very impressive. He’s been impressive, but he’s not a Steiner. Breakker is the future of NXT and the WWE, and most likely by the time Wrestlemania rolls around, I expect he’ll be a part of the main roster. But until then, I expect that Breakker will be working every week at the Performance Center defending his titles, both of them.
Winner and NEW NXT Unified Champion: Bron Breakker
Title Unification Triple Threat Match
NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose versus NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura versus Blair Davenport
I keep hearing rumors that Rose may be soon heading back to the main roster so this would be a nice way to have her drop the title, but not drop the title, if you catch my meaning. So either Satomura keeps her streak alive and beats Davenport or Davenport pulls the upset and beats Satomura to win both titles. Which direction will the powers-that-be prefer? Let’s go with a new face getting a run at the top. Davenport pins Satomura to win both titles.
Winner and NEW NXT and NXT-UK Women’s Champion: Blair Davenport
Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Team Championship Unification Match
NXT Tag Team Champions The Creed Brothers vs. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen vs. Gallus vs. Pretty Deadly
I’ll be honest here. The only team of the four that I’m familiar with is The Creed Brothers. That makes this one a pretty easy call then.
Winners and NEW Unified Tag Team Champions: The Creed Brothers.
NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Katana Chance & Kayden Carter versus Doudrop & Nikki A.S.H.
This should be a good match and it’s a great way to get two underappreciated main roster talents on the card as well. Will we see a title switch though or will the champs retain and then use the momentum to make a challenge for the belts on the main roster? That sounds like a plan to me. Chance and Carter retain and then move on to challenge the Women’s Champs on the main roster at a future Premium Live Event. Sounds like a plan to me.
Winners and STILL NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions: Katana Chance & Kayden Carter
NXT North American Championship Match
Carmelo Hayes versus Ricochet
Hayes belongs on the main roster. Ricochet has been on the main roster and needs to kind of reinvent himself to get back on track. So why not have Ricochet win here and go to NXT, while Carmelo moves up to the main roster? Works for me.
Winner and NEW NXT North American Champion: Ricochet
And there you go. Short, but still way too sweet! Are you planning to watch the NXT show on Peacock/The Network? It’ll be airing at 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoon, so this would make a great warm-up before going over to FITE to watch the AEW show later that evening. Sunday should be a really good day for wrestling.
Anyhow, I’m out of here. Thanks for reading. Comments, questions, and other thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Enjoy the show and take care of yourself. I’ll see you at the matches.
