Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
John Cena, Linda McMahon, Steve Austin & More
November 19, 2022
It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Favorite John Cena acting role?
Easily it’s Peacemaker. The series was extremely fun to watch and I’m anxiously anticipating Season 2. And if Cena does come back to WWE to wrestle at Wrestlemania 39, I want the cast of the series to accompany him to the ring, doing the Peacemaker Intro Dance. That would be awesome.
Dusty Rhodes versus Andre the Giant. Who wins?
Andre never loses and Dusty rarely lost so it would end up as a no-contest. Dusty and Andre would wrestle, both end up outside the ring, and be counted out, resulting in a double-count-out. If there had to be a winner, Andre would win, but I think the no-contest is the way most bookers would go with this.
Should the Usos start using the “Freebird Rule” to defend their tag team titles, with Solo Akaoi & Sami Zayn being part of their team?
I wouldn’t mind, but the Freebirds were a unit when they won the titles originally, as were The New Day when they used the Freebird rule. Sami and Solo weren’t part of the team when The Usos won the tag team titles so I don’t think the Freebird rule could be applied to them.
Could MJF be the face of WWE in 2024?
He could be if he does end up as part of the WWE, but to be honest, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think that when the contract actually expires, Tony Khan will if he’s still as focused on AEW as he is now and they’re still in business, will do whatever it takes to keep MJF happy.
What would happen if Elon Musk actually bought WWE?
It would be chaotic, almost like AEW for a while, and then Musk would step back and let the system already in place take back over and things would smooth themselves out and get back to normal. Or they’d go out of business. One or the other.
What are your thoughts on NWA and MLW? I like/want to like them both, but one of the biggest problems I have with both of them is the way that they keep pushing over 40 stars instead of featuring those that can be the future of the promotion.
The over-forty stars are the ones who know how to work a match, tell a story, and actually wrestle, something most of the younger talents don’t know how to do very well, preferring to do high spots and crazy stunts instead of serious wrestling. I think MLW and the NWA know what they’re trying to do though. The best thing we can do, as fans, is to just give them a chance and see how it develops.
I recently saw a picture of Linda McMahon down in Florida with President Trump. Do you think Linda is a possible running mate for Trump in 2024?
While I would greatly enjoy seeing Linda enter national politics, and believe she is far more qualified than most of the people in Congress or currently in the White House, I seriously doubt that’s the plan. After running WWE and dealing with Vince for over forty years, dealing with Washington politics would be a breeze. But Trump will most likely balance his ticket out with a person of minority descent (Nikki Haley perhaps?). I expect that Linda will be a part of his Administration when he resumes office in 2024, but Vice President won’t be the role she plays. Maybe an Ambassador or a Cabinet position? She’ll be around, but not as the V.P.
Who do you think will be in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023?
Just off the top of my head, I’d say that the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be The Midnight Express w/ Jim Cornette, William Regal, Cyndi Lauper, Mickie James, Victoria, Ivan Koloff, Kane, and Slick. Of course, I may be wrong, but those would be my picks for now anyhow.
What do you think of Steve Austin possibly returning to have a match at Wrestlemania 39?
I think it’s awesome and I hope that it happens. If WWE pulls it off, give me a hell yeah. “Hell Yeah!”
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and appreciated. And with that, I’m out of here. I have to go to work now. Pray for me. So take care and be good, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
