We’re talking wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Thoughts on Survivor Series? Good show or not?
I watched the entire show in one setting and it was good and entertaining from start to finish. The Rhonda versus Shotzi match was less than perfect and wasn’t great, but it was still far better than any AEW Women’s match that has ever happened, ever. It was a good and solid show and WWE showed very well why they’re the number one wrestling promotion in the world today.
I have an idea for a new PPV for either AEW or WWE. “Open Challenge” – every champion has an open challenge for the show and at least two or three of the challengers are returns or one-shot matches. I think it would go over big time. What do you think?
I can’t see it being a pay-per-view, but I could see it happening as a special episode of RAW or even AEW Dynamite. Imagine Triple H coming out and saying that they’re going to give out some opportunities. All the champions will have open challenges where anyone can step up and fight for the titles. Mix the challengers with people on the roster who usually don’t contend for titles, but are popular, and maybe some older talents hoping to come back or hot Indy stars that WWE is wanting to sign and use these matches as their try-outs. Mix it up and it would be a fun and entertaining show. Just imagine, the Usos being challenged by Shelton Benjamin, part of the current roster, and Charlie Haas, who has not wrestled in the WWE for several years. Austin Theory is challenged by Tatanka, who comes out of the crowd. And Ronda Rousey is being challenged by Tessa Blanchard. Just a night of surprises, debuts, returns, etc. It’s a good idea. I like it.
The Andersons, the Road Warriors, The Midnight Express, or the Rock ‘n Roll Express in their prime. Who would win in this four-way match?
The Midnight Express, probably the best team of the entire match, would be there to do the job because it wouldn’t hurt them at all and Cornette could be the fall guy. The Road Warriors would/should win.
Bray Wyatt versus Diesel. Who wins?
If we’re talking about the Kevin Nash Diesel, then he would get the win. Bray is better in the ring and a much more talented wrestler in my opinion, but Nash is arguably the bigger star. Nash wins.
Do you think William Regal will return to WWE when he is contractually able?
Does Lizzo enjoy trips to the buffet at the all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant? William Regal, who seemingly has been taken off of AEW television as of last night, is WWE 4 Life. He’s going back to WWE as soon as he is contractually able.
Brian “Spanky” Kendrick is back with WWE and had a try-out as a Producer at Survivor Series. Good move by WWE or not?
Apparently, Kendrick was brought in at the request of Ronda Rousey to help with her match against Shotzi as Spanky was instrumental in helping Ronda make the transition to professional wrestling. She wanted him there and WWE complied. The match wasn’t great, but I would love to see Kendrick back in the WWE as an agent or trainer. He’s an excellent performer. Yes, I know that he’s allegedly said this or that or whatever and is a “Holocaust Denier”. What does that have to do with wrestling or anything? The man said something not politically correct. Get over it. Who hasn’t said anything dumb? People in glass houses and all that stuff. Move on people. Kendrick would be a great asset to WWE and if WWE has the chance to hire him, they should do so.
So Kenny Omega says in Sports Illustrated that people need to move on and that it isn’t The Lollipop Guild vs. Punk. However, all I’m seeing tonight on Dynamite is Omega mocking the GTS hand symbol, etc. I see The Bucks mocking the way Punk sits during the trios’ match. Omega is a damn hypocrite.
Yeppers. Either this is all going from a shoot to a work and they’re laying the seeds for an eventual Punk return after he heals up from his injuries to fight with The Elite or Omega and the Bucks are all smart-ass spoiled brats and absolute hypocrites. I’ll go with the latter.
Tony Khan, supposedly a student of the game, has taken the ROH Title and made it a joke with a stipulation that is Vince Russo-like with Claudio Castagnoli. Is Khan really the smart fan we have heard he was?
No, he’s a rich kid with way too much money who wants to be a wrestling promoter. Nothing more.
Should WWE do themed shows with RAW/Smackdown dedicated to the territories?
That would be pretty cool depending on how they book it. Maybe have a brawl in the concession stand while in Memphis, a sixty-minute cage match to represent the Crockett territory while in Charlotte, etc. Okay, while it sounds good in theory, maybe not in practical application? Maybe just some acknowledgments of the history of the area and territory by the announcers would be sufficient. It would probably be more trouble than it’s worth.
Who does it better? The full nelson, aka The Hurt Lock, The Master Lock. Bobby Lashley or Chris Masters?
Ken Patera, the original World’s Strongest Man, and his full nelson move, which he used to swing his opponent around in a “Swinging Neckbreaker”, was far more effective and scarier than anything Masters or Lashley have ever done. But between Masters & Lashley, both men are effective and do it well. I prefer Chris Masters and his “Masterlock”, but that “Hurt Lock” is effective as well. I think we need a match at Wrestlemania to decide which one is actually better. Book it, Triple H.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, or any questions are welcome and appreciated. Talk to me, my Peeps. I want to hear from you. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
