For the second time today, it’s time to get down to the nitty-gritty and talk professional wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
What’s your personal preference for the Rumble this year? Do you have the winner getting a shot at one of the titles but also do Roman Vs Rock? Or will Rock win? Or maybe split the belts at Rumble and the winner is the WWE champ?
My personal favorite to win the Rumble this year would be either Cody or he’s not able, then go with Seth to win. I would have the winner challenge for one of the titles since WWE really does need to split the belts back up again. Night one would have Roman versus The Rock, with Roman going over and then night two, Roman defends against the winner of the Rumble, while Austin works the main event match.
Do you think a “Forbidden Door” type supershow would ever be possible with the new Triple H run WWE and AEW?
With WWE and New Japan, Noah, Impact Wrestling, AAA, or the NWA, I would say a match or two is possible and even a supershow overseas is possible as well. But with AEW, I just can’t see it.
Who would be the best opponent for Edge at WrestleMania? He’s worked with many of the top heels already.
I would go with Edge versus GUNTHER with the Intercontinental Championship versus Edge’s career. It could be a good match, but I’d have GUNTHER go over while Edge calls it a day. GUNTHER, as the man who retired Edge, would be set as a top guy, while Edge could have a great match and go out in style.
What’s your opinion of The Firm? Seems like it’s kind of fallen flat with most of the titles they mentioned being out of reach at this time. Bonus question how would you fix it?
My opinion of The Firm, which consists of manager Stokley Hathaway and wrestlers Ethan Page, W. Morrisey, Lee Moriarty, and I think the Gunn Club? The group has talent, but in that confusing mess that is AEW, they’re just lost in the shuffle. Page, Morrisey, and The Gunns are all top guys and could easily be moved into stories with the Champions. Stokley is a good manager, but in a company full of factions, valets, and managers, he’s just a face in the crowd. How would I fix it? Truthfully, I have nothing. AEW and Tony are not going to allow anything good or fresh to happen. I have nothing.
Since Ric Flair has repeatedly talked about his intentions to keep wrestling, who should be his next opponent?
There should be no “next opponent”. Ric Flair should never wrestle another match again. Forget about the money or opponent. Just say no!
Do you think WWE should bring back the old rules? Such as checking the arm/letting it drop 3 times, if you don’t defend the title in 30 days, then you are stripped, and the refs call DQ if wrestlers don’t break at 5 seconds/get out of the ring after tag?
They seem to be heading back and doing the old rules and for the most part, the only change needs to just be consistent enforcement. And the 30-Day stipulation in regards to title defenses, I wish they would bring that back, but with part-time wrestlers as the major champions, that one will never come back.
By the end of the Bucks-Death Triangle series, how many hammers will be involved in the last match?
Almost as many as a sleepover at Paul Pelosi’s house when Nancy is out of town.
Dark Order, disband, or restock? Lots of shit factions in AEW & Dark Order have their fans. Watching them do X-factor-like auditions would be great. Get them back into recruiting.
It would be something for them to do to get The Dark Order on TV and make them interesting again for a while anyhow. I like that idea. Hey Tony Khan, book it!
If CM Punk vs The Elite is a work, and this is Tony Khan’s greatest storyline ever – how would you book Punk’s return to AEW? Does he go after The Elite alone ala Austin versus McMahon’s Corporation? Or does he recruit other wrestlers to help him?
I don’t think it’s a work and though it may end up being turned into one, I just can’t see it happening due to the immaturity of 2/3 of the Elite, the Hardly Boys. But let’s say it is and CM Punk comes back. I would have him pop up at one of their pay-per-views and come into the ring, going after The Elite with a baseball bat. Punk could clear the ring as the show ends and then the following Wednesday on Dynamite, Punk comes to the ring, holds the show hostage, and cuts the pipebomb promo on the Elite, calling them out. The Elite comes to the ring and cut their promos. They are ready to go after Punk, but FTR comes out and has Punk’s back. And there you go. The Elite versus Punk/FTR. Start printing that money.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. I want to talk to you. And with that, I’m out of here, my friends. Take care and be safe. Watch for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.
