Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
The Crusher, Flair In The Rumble, Al Perez & More

I need to go to Wal-Mart. I despise going to Wal-Mart. I also have some questions about the World’s greatest sport to answer. Let’s go with the wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Ric Flair recently was joking on his podcast with Conrad about being a surprise for the Royal Rumble. Do you think WWE would do that and let Ric take part in the Rumble?
Ric is just being Ric again. There is no way that Triple H would allow Ric to get into the ring and participate in the Royal Rumble. Ric is just talking to be talking. It’ll never happen.
Who is/was better at running a wrestling company? Dixie Carter or Tony Khan?
A hard call because both have been pretty bad, but at least Dixie was smart enough to hire others to do most of the work and keep TNA going. Tony has billions of dollars to play with, but he’s losing money hand over the foot and is also trying to do everything himself for AEW and ROH rather than delegate. It’s going to eventually get to him and take him down hard. No one is Superman and the wear and tear are already taking its toll on Tony. I’ll say Dixie is better just because she didn’t try to do it all by herself.
I just heard that Conrad Thompson, Nick Aldis, and Mickie James are starting a new wrestling promotion in Australia. Is this true? Thoughts?
I saw this and just shook my head. Apparently, it’s a deal with a promoter in Australia and will be something similar to Starcast. Good idea? I don’t think so, but it’s all in the early stages of talk right now and if it does happen, it won’t be until late 2023. I’ll take a wait-and-see attitude with this since so many things can happen between now and then. Let’s just follow the developments as they happen and see what happens next.
The Latin Heartthrob Al Perez. Memories and thoughts?
A good wrestler with a good look who was managed by Gary Hart in WCW and was rumored to be the man who was supposed to be the Black Scorpion, but allegedly got mad that he would be losing to Hogan in the end and left the company to go to the WWF. And that allegedly faltered because Pat Patterson made some moves and Perez quit the WWF to go back to Indys and Florida before eventually leaving the sport. Perez had it all with the look, the charisma, the skills, and Gary Hart as his manager, but from all indications, believed his own hype and overestimated his importance thus, instead of becoming a legend, is just a footnote and the answer to a question in a wrestling Q&A. Too bad! He could have been so much more.
Don “The Rock” Muraco versus “The Rock” Ole Anderson versus Rocky Johnson versus The Rock versus Rocky King. Who wins?
Who else, but the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? And you know what I think? It doesn’t matter what I think. The Rock wins.
Who is the best “Crusher” in wrestling?
Let’s look at the choices. The Crusher, Crusher Blackwell, Krusher Kruschev, Crusher Kline, and Crusher Broomfield (One Man Gang). I’m sure that there are many others as well, but these are the first ones that I thought of who used the moniker “Crusher”. And the best one? Connor Michalek, aka Conner the Crusher. The young boy who Conner’s Cure, the charitable organization run by the WWE, is named after. He laid out and pinned HHH. All due respect to the other men who called themselves Crusher, but Conner was one of a kind. RIP Conner.
What is your Mt. Rushmore of masked wrestlers?
Right off the top of my head, I’d go with The Assassin, Mr. Wrestling II, The Masked Superstar & Mil Mascaras.
What is your Mt. Rushmore of referees?
For this one, let’s go with Tommy Young, Earl Hebner, Charles Robinson, and Mark Curtis.
Ric Flair wants Tony Khan to start an AEW Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
It’s a nice thought, but let’s hold off for now. Let’s make sure that AEW is going to be around for a few more years first and let Khan concentrate on that first before venturing off into any other areas. Maybe if Khan could secure a permanent spot for it so fans could visit and learn about their heroes, it would work, but as I already said, that’s probably an idea left for the future. Concentrate on AEW and ROH now. Anything else, later.
Speaking of Flair, he also recently claimed that Sami Zayn is too comedic for the Bloodline. Thoughts?
Sami can be comedic and entertaining, but he can also be serious when the situation calls for it, much the same way that Jericho, Kevin Owens, Kevin Nash, Jimmy Valiant, Disco Inferno, Matt Cardona, Tyrus, etc., can all do. Ric is just talking to be talking again, as he often does. Sami is killing it right now with the Bloodline. Why can’t Ric just admit it and enjoy it as the rest of us are doing? Well, that wouldn’t be Ric, would it? Oh well.
And there you go. Another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A in the books. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, or any questions are very welcome and appreciated. And with that, it’s time to suck it up and go to Wal-Mart. Pray for me, my friends. I hate that place. I’ll see you on the next go-around. Take care and be safe. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
