I’m way too wired to sleep right now. I just finished typing up a recap of my evening, a great live wrestling event here in Laurinburg, NC. Jimmy Valiant, Cruze Bittle, Hangtyme, Sammy Love, Angel Angels, Nate Cross, and so many more great talents, live here in my little hometown. They put on a great show too. Go read my recap and enjoy. But before you do that, read this first. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Ric and Charlotte Flair versus Tully & Tessa Blanchard in a mixed tag team match. Who wins?
Let’s just hope that with this match, the men stay on the ring apron and let the women do all the work. The last time Tully wrestled, it was part of a six-man tag team with FTR as his partners. He didn’t try to do much and actually looked pretty good. The last time Ric wrestled though? Oy vey! I never want to see Ric inside that ring again. And so far as this match goes, I guess we’ll go with the Flairs to win.
Would you watch a reality show with Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green?
Of all the couples in pro wrestling, Matt & Chelsea are one of the few that I would actually watch a series about. I’ve heard the rumors too that the E! Network, and WWE are talking about a reality show and that the Cardonas are one of the couples being talked about for this show. I think it would be very interesting and I’d like to see it.
Would Dutch Mantell have made a good NWA World Champion?
I like Dutch and he was an excellent wrestler and talker, but I just don’t see him as a likely candidate for being the NWA World Champion. He was probably as capable as anyone, but it just doesn’t ring well with me.
Should AEW book Rampage as an all-women’s show?
First, they’d have to get enough talented women wrestlers who are actually charismatic, interesting, and talented in the ring to have people for the show. AEW has a few good women wrestlers, but enough to warrant their own show? They have a long ways to go for that.
Was Rusev/Miro used better in AEW or WWE?
He was definitely used better in the WWE. He almost always was on TV and presented in a strong fashion, even when he wasn’t happy with the direction his character was taking. In AEW, he started off with a push, vanished, and hasn’t been featured strongly since. Definitely, the WWE was the better place for the man they once called Rusev.
There are rumors going around that WWE is planning a stadium show in Puerto Rico sometime before Wrestlemania, with one of the matches being Bad Bunny & Rey Mysterio versus Dominick Mysterio & Damien Priest to set up a Bunny vs Dominick match for Mania. Thoughts?
Honestly, I like this idea. Rey, for whatever reason, doesn’t want to wrestle his son in a singles match, so just go with this instead. Puerto Rican wrestling fans are a great and wild crowd and wrestling there, especially in a stadium show, would be a great experience for all the younger WWE talents. And Bunny versus Dominick at Mania? Works for me. Book it, HHH.
What’s the most emotional moment you’ve ever seen in wrestling: I’ll go first. Macho Man Randy Savage turning face and reuniting with Miss Elizabeth at Wrestlemania 7.
The first one that comes to mind for me was when Arn Anderson announced his retirement. Just watch Flair’s face and listen to Arn’s voice. If you don’t feel your allergies acting up, you’re not human.
If you were a promotor with an unlimited credit line and a time machine you could only use to book wrestlers from different eras of time and their primes, what are the ultimate dream matches that surpass time? Create an 8-match card of those matches.
8 Dream Matches for a super-card? I can do that. Let’s start off with Brock Lesnar versus Stan Hansen. John Cena versus Harley Race. The Midnight Express versus FTR. Greg “The Hammer” Valentine versus GUNTHER. The Undertaker & Kane versus The Blackjacks. Disco Inferno versus The Honky Tonk Man. Ivory, Victoria & Molly Holly versus Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Sasha Banks. And finally, Asuka versus Luna Vachon.
Good take or bad take: Jake Hager would be better off returning to WWE. Returning as Jack Swagger to the NXT brand and an instant rival to NXT champ Bron Breakker.
I think it would be a very good take if Hager was to get serious about his wrestling again and go back to the WWE. He is a good wrestler with a strong MMA background and while not a great talker, he can be a major asset to any wrestling company if properly motivated and used correctly. Hager versus Breakker would be an exceptional match and hell, I’d like to see a Fight Pit match with Hager and Riddle. That would be very fun as well.
W. Morrissey is no more. His name in AEW has been changed to Big Bill. Thoughts?
Suddenly, Doudrop & Butch don’t seem that bad after all. Big Bill? Really? Really? Really? I guess since they can’t call him Big Cass, this one will have to do, but damn, that’s pretty awful.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions you may have are very welcome and appreciated. And now, I bid you a good night. I think I’m ready for bed. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, especially if you’re wrestling Jay Eagle. I’ll see you at the matches.
