It’s 4:00 a.m. and I can’t sleep, so what is a man to do? How about an edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A? That sounds like a plan to me. Let’s do this!
Does Alice Cooper belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Alice’s only real history with the WWE is an appearance at Wrestlemania III where he seconded Jake “The Snake” Roberts in a match against The Honky Tonk Man and chased Jimmy Hart around with a snake, so normally, I’d say no about the WWE Hall of Fame. But… and you knew there would be a but, Alice is my favorite rocker and he’s done more for the WWE than Drew Carey, Queen Sharmell, or Torrie Wilson, so I would say yes. Induct the King of Shock Rock. Are you listening, HHH?
Trish Stratus versus Charlotte Flair, both in their primes. Who wins?
Trish is a WWE Legend and a talented person, but she is far better as a character than an actual wrestler. Charlotte is the real deal, both as a character and in that ring as a professional wrestler. She’s her father’s daughter. Charlotte would win.
If WWE brought back the “Guest Hosts”, who would you like to see?
Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, aka Jay & Silent Bob, are the first names that come to mind. Ben Affleck & Matt Damon would be fun to see as well. And for the sake of nostalgia, America’s Most Hated, Kevin Federline.
Who are your favorites to win the Elimination Chamber matches?
For the women, I’m pulling for Asuka (of course) and for the men’s match, I want to see Austin Theory retain his title and win.
Alex Riley is back in wrestling and is coming to the NWA. Thoughts?
Riley is back, working for the NWA under the name of Kevin Kiley, and will be making his NWA debut on Saturday against EC3. I’m glad to see him back. He was so good in WWE as both a commentator and in-ring performer, but apparently, he crossed John Cena and that came to an end before he could show his full potential. But there is no Cena in the NWA and I expect we’ll see a lot of good things from Riley as he finally has an opportunity to show what he’s capable of. He’s a little older and a little wiser now and I’m expecting to see a lot out of the Miz’s former protege in the months to come. I’m glad he’s back.
Tony Khan tells you to recruit five wrestlers to fight the Jericho Appreciation Society in a Blood & Guts Match for AEW Dynamite. Who would your wrestlers be?
I wouldn’t have to go far to find my team. A quick phone call to the promoter of C.A.G.E. from here in Laurinburg, NC, and then it would be a road trip to AEW Dynamite for myself and Nathan Cross, Sammy Love, Angel Angels, Eric Gibson, and Cruze Bittle. I’d also recruit The Fallen Artist, Derk Douglas, to act as the manager for the C.A.G.E. crew. And then it’d be off to AEW Dynamite to teach Jericho & his crew what being part of C.A.G.E. and Atlantic Coast Wrestling is all about.
Matt Cardona versus Johnny B. Badd. Who wins?
Johnny B. Badd was a bad man, both inside and outside of the ring, and a fun character/performer from the early days of WCW, but Cardona is a former NWA Champion and the King of the Death Matches. If you don’t believe me, just ask him. He’ll tell you. Cardona wins. Woo woo woo – you know it!
WWE decides to bring back Legend’s House for a new season on the Network. You can pick the eight legends. Who would you pick?
Lisa “Ivory” Moretti, Buff Bagwell, Disco Inferno, Stevie Ray, Madusa, Hornswoggle, The Sandman, and Awesome Kong.
Since February is Black History Month, who would be on your Mt. Rushmore of Black Wrestlers?
My picks would probably be Ernie “The Cat” Ladd, Booker T, Bobo Brazil, and Jacqueline.
The Acclaimed versus The West Hollywood Blondes. Who wins?
Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, the Acclaimed, are a fantastic tag team who have come into their own over the past year and just wrapped up a reign as the AEW Tag Team Champions only a few days ago. The West Hollywood Blondes, Lenny Lane and Lodi, from WCW, were two accomplished mid-card wrestlers doing a gay, but a not gay gimmick. They were always fun to see. I think Lenny and Lodi are the better actual wrestlers, but Caster & Bowen are the team with the audience behind them and all the momentum. The Acclaimed would win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions that you may have are welcome and very appreciated. And with that, it’s time to go back to bed and see if I can salvage some sleep. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
