Impact Wrestling: No Surrender 2023
Thoughts & Predictions
February 23, 2023
DougMaynard.com
Impact Wrestling will return to PPV, Impact+, and FITE.TV on Friday 2/24 with No Surrender 2023, live from Las Vegas at the Samstown Casino. Are you ready for a few predictions? Let’s do this.
Impact Wrestling Champion Josh Alexander vs. Rich Swann.
Swann is always tough and this will be a match for the ages. But with that being said, I don’t expect to see Alexander lose his championship anytime soon.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion: Josh Alexander
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James vs. Masha Slamovich.
It’s Mickie James as the champion and as the champion, she’ll remain.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion: Mickie James
Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Death Dollz vs. The Hex.
It’s Jessicka and Taya Valkyrie defending their belts against the team of Allysin Kay and Marti Belle, who just happen to be former NWA Women’s Tag Team Champions. This should be a good match and I expect that The Hex will give 150% in this match. But that being said, The Dollz have been unbeatable since winning the tag team titles. And in this match, that will still be the case.
Winners and STILL Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions: The Death Dollz
A Four-Way Match to determine new top contender to Impact Championship: Brian Myers vs. PCO vs. Heath Miller vs. Steve Maclin.
Never bet against a man who has kids. Heath wins here and then goes on to fulfill the 3MB Curse of becoming a World Champion. So I have said and so it shall be done.
Winner and NEW Number One Contender to the Impact Championship: Heath Miller
Time Machine – The Motor City Machine Guns & KUSHIDA vs. Bullet Club – KENTA & Ace Austin & Chris Bey.
I think we’re going to see a Bullet Club “don’t call it a comeback” moment and will Jay White show up and be involved? Who knows? The MCMGs has been on a streak since returning to Impact Wrestling a few months ago, but that streak ends here.
Winners: The Bullet Club (KENTA, Ace Austin & Chris Bey).
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Gisele Shaw.
Shaw is good, but Purrazzo is better.
Winner: Deonna Purrazzo.
Kazarian vs. Big Kon.
Kazarian gave up a big money deal to leave AEW and come back to Impact Wrestling full-time. He didn’t come back to lose matches.
Winner: Kazarian
Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joey Hendry vs. Moose in a Dot Combat Match.
It’s hard to support a guy who shares a surname with Bullwinkle, plus I have a special place in my heart for guys named Joey. They turn me on. Look for Hendry to retain his title here.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion: Joey Hendry.
Jonathan Gresham vs. Speedball Mike Bailey.
Both of these guys are so good, this is the dark horse match of the night that could very easily wind up stealing the show. Gresham is a former ROH Champion so we know how good he is, but Bailey has been so impressive as of late, it’s hard to bet against him. So I won’t.
Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey
And there you go with my predictions for Impact Wrestling’s No Surrender 2023. I doubt many people will be watching, especially on a Friday night, but the show will probably be an excellent one. Impact Wrestling rarely fails to deliver when it comes to good matches and solid action in that squared circle.
So am I right? Am I wrong? Let me know what you think with your comments, thoughts, and questions. I want to hear from you. And with that being said, it’s time to wrap this up. Thanks for reading. Take care and stay well, my friends. And watch out for foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
