Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Masked Wrestlers, Backlash, Jon Moxley & More

Yes, it’s another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. The questions have been piling up and I don’t want to go to Walmart so why not kill two birds with one stone, or column as the case may be? The longer I sit here and answer questions, the more I can procrastinate about that journey to retail hell. Works for me. And here you go.
Kenny Omega recently stated that he thinks Jon Moxley is the MVP of AEW. Thoughts?
I’m sure that MJF might disagree, but I won’t. Since Punk’s been missing, Moxley has stepped up and acted as the face of AEW in all the big matches and moments. That might be a large reason why they’re not growing and the audiences and TV ratings are in a major slump, but Moxley still gets an A for effort.
Nikita Koloff versus The Masked Superstar. Who wins?
This would be a kick-ass match. Nikita has the strength advantage, but Superstar has the experience and is close enough in size that neither would have the advantage. I’d rather see Superstar win, but common sense booking would have Nikita walking out with the win.
Could a masked wrestler (Masked Superstar, Wrestling II, Assassin) work in today’s world?
In today’s world where every little detail and secret is exposed to the public, it would be a challenge to pull that gimmick off, but I’d love to see one of the major promotions try with a masked wrestler getting a big push, but his true identity hidden and kept secret. It would blow up the internet and watch fans try to figure out who the mystery person really is. It could work and would be awesome.
NWO or DX?
The nWo was great for its time, but DX proved by the test of time that they were indeed the stronger faction of the two. And the Four Horsemen. They were and will always be better than either. Diamonds are forever and so are The Horsemen.
Should Backlash be in Puerto Rico from now on?
While that would be nice, I’d say just make Puerto Rico a regular stop when WWE does their touring and let them host a PLE semi-regularly. It doesn’t have to be Backlash, but so long as they get regular events, everyone should be happy.
With the success of the teaming of Braun and Ricochet… what seemingly random pair of WWE wrestlers do you think would make a fun tag team.
I always wanted to see Brock & Sami Zayn as a team after their in-ring encounter a couple of years ago on Smackdown. Baron Corbin & Miz would be an interesting team to see, as well as Asuka & Carmella.
With the successful revival of the LWO, which defunct faction would either of you bring back, and who would be in it?
Once The Bloodline runs its course, how about the return of The Dangerous Alliance with Paul Heyman managing Gunther, Baron Corbin, Riddick Moss, Asuka & the returning Curtis Axel? And I’m not sure if the Wyatt Family is defunct or not, but Bray with a team consisting of Pretty Deadly, Bo Dallas, Alexa Bliss, and a returning Lisa Marie Varon, aka Victoria. Works for me.
How would you feel about Anthony Ogogo vs Orange Cassidy at All In for the International Championship?
Is Ogogo still even a part of AEW? I had forgotten about him. Ogogo versus Cassidy? Yeah, that would be a good match. Book it, Tony.
Should Bad Bunny win the IC or US title at Backlash in Puerto Rico next year? Who should he beat?
Bad Bunny is a major recording star who tours constantly, plus has a major musical career to focus on. His appearances with the WWE are cool and he’s looked great in that ring, but I don’t see him winning any titles because honestly, he wouldn’t be able to work a schedule and defend them properly. So while having Bunny at WWE events is good and a regular appearance in Puerto Rico at Backlash would be awesome, no belts for the Bad One.
Should WWE wait until Wrestlemania XL for Cody to finish the story, or should it happen sooner, at Summer Slam, maybe? What are the pros and cons of both?
Having the story end at Wrestlemania would give it the big moment feel that it deserves and be a fitting ending, but the problem is keeping Cody strong and the fans happy along the way. If Cody and Roman are kept apart for so long, the fans will lose interest and move on to other things. Wrestling fans these days are not known for their patience. I think SummerSlam is a more realistic and practical goal than drawing it out for a whole year and waiting for Mania.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and stay well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
