It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and party host. Let’s get ready to rumble. Let’s roll.
Imagine WWE had a fan vote for who becomes the next General Manager of RAW & Smackdown. We’d have weeks of campaign speeches from wrestlers and managers – maybe even commentators pitching for the job. Who’d you vote for?
That would be different for sure. It may be too convoluted and complicated to work for a company like WWE. Still, it is a creative idea, especially as we are headed into a national election in November. I’d love to be a fly in the room listening to the WWE writers explain this to Triple H for his opinion. It would be epic. Who would get my vote? Based on his current job performance, I’d choose Nick Aldis for Smackdown and Chelsea Green as his assistant GM.
Will we see Jon Moxley in WWE by this time next year? And has that name become too big a star to revert to Dean Ambrose?
If Moxley returns to WWE, I think he’ll use his real name and the Dean Ambrose name will be retired. But that being said, I don’t think Moxley will be back in WWE until it’s time for the HOF induction. His style of wrestling and WWE wouldn’t go together very well anymore.
Which comes first, Jack Perry feuding with Sammy Guevara over the TNT title in a ladder match at Wembley or Chris Jericho getting involved turning it into a triple threat?
Perry versus Sammy at Wembley would be great. I think (hope) that Jericho has enough going on to stay out of this match and mind his own business. One can only hope.
This has got me thinking a lot lately… if AEW never existed BUT the landscape of WWE stayed the same (I.e. McMahon lost power, WWE got sold, HHH gained creative control, etc.) would WWE be as “hot” as it is now or would HHH just be on cruise control?
It would be better than it was, but not nearly as good as it currently is. Competition makes things better and having AEW to compete against has brought out the best in Triple H. Triple H, even if not properly motivated, would be better than Vince over the past few years, but having Tony Khan and AEW in the rearview mirror seems to have brought out the best in Triple H.
If War Games is 5 on 5, speculating that it’s Roman, Jimmy, and Jey, then who are the other 2 that join them?
I would love to see the two former Paul Heyman guys, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, but that’s probably not going to happen and both men could be used in other ways. So let’s go with Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins.
Is Cody Rhodes the best-ever JRism of “go away and learn a new hold and come back” in the history of WWE?
Cody might be one of the best, but Drew McIntyre has to be in the argument as well.
Who are 10 AEW Wrestlers who will jump ship RIGHT NOW and have their AEW nightmare turned into WWE dreams?
Ten AEW wrestlers who would probably come to WWE in an instant if they were contractually able? I’d say Miro, Ricky Starks, Wardlow, FTR, Dr. Britt Baker, Dalton Castle, Kip Sabian, and Will Hobbs.
What are the biggest real-life stories that never made it into television? Why was there never a straight-up Triple H Vs Shane McMahon feud?
I honestly can’t think of anything because most real-life issues were either personal and had nothing to do with professional wrestling characters or were just too dark for public consumption. I suppose the legit fight between BigShow and Great Khali would have made good TV, but I can’t think of anything else. As for Triple H and Shane, I guess that they didn’t want to air true dirty laundry in public.
Should Bryan Danielson win the Owen Hart Tournament and main event AEW All-In?
The main event for the Owen Tournament is Bryan Danielson versus Hangman Adam Page, with Jeff Jarrett as the special enforcer. Yes, I think Danielson should win.
Whatever happened to Gentleman Jack Gallagher?
If I recall correctly, he was released from WWE in 2020 following several allegations as part of the MeToo movement. Since leaving WWE, Gallagher has participated in both MMA and Bared Knuckled Boxing events. He has not wrestled at all since his WWE release.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up for now.
