Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Would you like to see Tony Khan rebrand ROH to bring it in line with other AEW programming like Dynamite and Collision?
I’d just like to see Tony Khan find a way to get ROH on a network or streaming service, to give the promotion an identity of its own. If a rebrand is what it takes, turning ROH into AEW ROH, so be it. Whatever it takes.
What’s your take—do you want to see Charlotte break Ric Flair’s record, or should John Cena’s 17th title be where it ends?
Let the deal with Cena be where it stops. It doesn’t matter anyhow. The title reigns of Cena and Charlotte don’t compare in the slightest to what the champions of the ’70s and ’80s, such as Ric Flair, did every night.
What’s your take on Darby Allin’s latest stunt—do you think he needs to slow down, or is this just part of who he is?
For those who don’t know, Darby did a stunt where he jumped and wrecked a car a few weeks ago. This is not long after successfully completing the climb of Mt. Everest, just a week or so ago if I recall correctly, yet before his alleged return scheduled for next weekend. And what kind of wrestling shape will he be in? Darby is going to be crippled before he turns 50. He needs to slow it down.
Queen Sharmell versus Melina versus Michelle McCool. Who wins?
What a match this would be. A true stinker in every way, shape, and form. Sharmell is so/so as a wrestler, while McCool is overrated, but can work. And Melina is easily the best of the three. Melina wins.
What do you think about Psycho Clown joining WWE? Should he go to RAW, SmackDown, or NXT?
Psycho Clown. I’ve only seen him work a few times, as part of Worlds Collide and a few matches on YouTube. He’s an entertaining dude and it’ll be interesting to see what he can do in WWE. What brand would be best? I’d start him off with Evolve and take it from there.
Allegedly, the tickets for WWE Evolution aren’t selling nearly as well as WWE hoped. Thoughts?
The build has been lackluster, and two other overpriced WWE events are happening in the same town on the same weekend, with The Great American Bash and Saturday Night Main Event. It’s too much for the average fan and they’re being forced to make a choice. And of the three options, the women lose every time. It sucks, but it all boils down to the biggest bang for the buck. No one expects NXT to draw a big crowd, and SNME has Goldberg’s last match. The women are left behind.
How do you think Bret Hart will be remembered in twenty years?
A great wrestler, a constant complainer, and the Montreal Screwjob.
Did you ever attend a WWE House Show as a kid?
Nope, I never did. I’ve been to hundreds of old NWA shows for Crockett Promotions, a few WCW shows, and hundreds of independent shows in various gyms, Armorys, and ballparks. But a WWE event? Nope, not yet.
Bruiser Brody & One Man Gang versus Lex Luger & Sting. Who wins?
Brody and Gang would dominate the match and control most of the action, but Sting and Lex are the big names and big stars in this match. Either Gang would take the pin or there would be a DQ finish. Either way, Sting and Lex would be declared the winners.
What is your favorite classic wrestling move of all time?
The Claw. And that is all the people need to know!
