Opposing Views

Ready to raise more havoc than Irma is currently doing in Florida, it’s time to present some of my “Opposing Views”. Yes, my lovely Peeps, this is where I take off the gloves of political correctness and just let it all spill out, politically speaking that is. These questions come from the Facebook page of a site called (surprise) Opposing Views. They hate Trump and Republicans. Doesn’t matter though because I’m sure that Trump and most Republican’s don’t much care for them either. I like the site though. They have some great questions. And now, I’m going to answer a few of those “great questions”. So let’s just do it, shall we? Oh yes, I think we shall…

Do you feel that teens who commit heinous crimes should be held to the same standard as adults? Or should their age be taken into consideration and be given a lighter sentence because of it?

I do think that age and should be considered when teens are sentenced for criminal acts. If someone is 13 or 14, then sentencing them as an adult is obviously wrong. If they’re 16 or 17 and obviously old enough to know better, that’s another story. It’s hard to answer this as a blanket statement because some teens are more mature than others and the mental development varies from kid to kid. I guess it should be determined on a case by case basis. Let the teens be examined by psychologists and their mental age and maturity be used to judge what kind of sentence they receive. I wish there was a clear answer to this, but I can’t think of one right off the top of my head.

Who is more disliked? Hillary or Trump?

By me, it’s definitely Hillary. Trump is many things, but his biggest flaws are ego and over-confidence more than anything else. He’s an asshole, but I think he has good intentions and a good heart. Hillary is the pure personification of evil and corruption. The only person that Hillary has any empathy or concern for is herself and maybe her daughter, but that’s about it. A truly vile human being if there ever was one.

Would you like to see Elizabeth Warren run for president one day?

Only if to watch her lack of actual ideas, the hypocrisy and lies she regularly spouts out and that whole “I’m an Indian” crap all blow up in her face as she implodes on the national strength. Compared to Warren, John Edwards was a good candidate when he ran for President. Better this wench stick to her crazy-meetings with the other looney-toons of Congress such as Maxine Walters, Nancy Pelosi and Bernie than run for national office. She’s not qualified and nothing but a clown and joke on her best day.

Do you think the Clintons are a disgrace to our country?

Does it get dark at night? Does a Hurricane bring rain and strong winds? Does Trump have crazy hair? Is Al Sharpton racist? You get the point, right?

Rev. Franklin Graham says Christians and Muslims absolutely do not worship the same God. Do you agree or disagree?

While I respect Rev. Graham, I must disagree on this one. What I believe is that there is one God, one higher power, one supreme being, etc. Call it what you will, but there is one and only one. Christians see him one way, Jews another, Muslims another and so on. The supreme being, if he does exist, is one and one only. It’s just differences in manners of worship and interpretation that the problems start to come up. I think there’s a line from the movie “Dogma” that says it best. It’s not what you believe, but that you do believe. I might have messed up the actual quote from Rufus, but the meaning is there. Something to remember here is that the Bible, the Koran, etc, all of the holy books and scriptures that we go by were written by men claiming to have heard the words of their God and what they were told. So the bias and different interpretations come into play here and hence, different beliefs, meanings and religions. But all under one God. At least that’s how I see it.

Trump says there’s no question Obama weakened America’s standing in the world. Is he right?

Obama was an apologetic wimp who couldn’t make a decision and was laughed at by the rest of the world for the blatant stupidity of some of his actions, like giving the Iranian’s hundreds of millions of dollars in cash or drawing a line in Syria and then backing off when his bluff was called. And let’s don’t even talk about the Russian Invasion of Georgia and the Ukraine. What about Obama’s response to the attack on our allies. He did nothing. Yeah, Obama was a bad President and poor leader.

Respect our National Anthem. Respect our flag. Respect our country. That’s George Foreman’s message to today’s athletes.
Do you agree or disagree with George Foreman?

George Foreman is absolutely right here. If you are an American, show respect for our nation and be proud to be an American. I’m not saying that it’s wrong to disagree and protest about injustice and the things that are wrong with our nation, but there is a time and place and a proper way to do it. I see these people complaining about how bad America is, but they don’t turn down the benefits of being in this country, do they? Merle Haggard said it best in a song many years ago, “If you don’t love it, leave it. And let this song that I’m singing be a warning. If you’re running down this country, you’re walking on the fighting side of me.” If these athletes dislike America so much, go to Cuba or Russia or even Mexico and see how much “better” things would be for you there. Leave. You won’t be missed.

Is Donald Trump the best or worst President we’ve had in the last 20 years?

He’s neither the best or worst. In the past twenty years, the Presidents have been Clinton, Bush, Obama and Trump. Clinton was the best on domestic issues. Bush was the best on making America proud and strong again. Obama was pretty much the worst on everything. And Trump, it’s too early to really tell, but so far, so good.

Do you appreciate the way Obama led America for eight years?

Not at all. He destroyed our economy, made our nation a laughing stock several times, lied to the American people many, many times and set racial relations back a hundred years. As bad as John McCain was and is, our nation would have been much better off if he had won in 2008 instead of the neighborhood organizer and former drug dealer from Chicago.

Who was the better First Lady: Nancy Reagan or Michelle Obama?

I can’t really say because both women had different styles and agendas and are so totally opposite in so many ways. With Nancy, she was the First Lady, but her primary and only mission was to protect her husband and take care of Ronnie. She did other things, such as the “Just Say No”, but she was Ronnie’s wife and partner first and foremost. Michelle seemed to have more of a social agenda in mind and more of an activist mindset, at least in my opinion. I’m not going to compare these two women and the job that they did as First Lady. They both were fine for the roles that they played.

A college professor openly called for Trump to be killed. When the university he works at learned of his words, they fired him.
Do you support the school’s decision?

Absolutely and that’s not because he threatened Trump, but it would be the same if it was Obama, Bush, Clinton, etc. He called for the assassination of the President of the United States, pure and simple. He deserved to be fired and should also be arrested and prosecuted. A good call by the University and now the police need to take the correct actions as well and lock his ass up.

Was Obama the best President in the last 30 years?

Not even close. He makes the Presidency of Jimmy Carter look competent by comparison and that’s saying something. Obama is easily the worst person of the past 50 years to hold the office of President of the United States. Maybe even the last 100 years actually.

Bernie Sanders says Barack Obama will be remembered as one of the most intelligent presidents in US history. Were you proud to have Obama in the White House?

Barack is a smart and intelligent man. There is no about that. A man doesn’t get elected President if he’s an idiot and can’t think fast on his feet. But intelligence and competence are often two totally different things. He was smart to be sure, but was also a liar, a hypocrite and a bad leader who had bad policies and did more damage to our nation than good. So while I’m not discounting his intelligence, I don’t think he was a good President and I think we would have been better off if someone else had held that office rather than Obama for the last eight years.

And there you go. I think I’m done for the night. It’s time now to go watch Dallas play New York (Go Giants) and get things ready for work in the morning. Also need to go find out when Irma is due here in the Tarheel state. We have a truck at work in the morning and I don’t want to be unloading a thousand cases of liquor in the middle of a storm. So anyhow, thank you for reading. Comments, thoughts, questions and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Tell me why you think I’m wrong. Let’s debate. I’m willing. Are you? Think about it.

And with that, I’m down and gone. Have a great night.

Ubuntu!
