Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
September 23, 2017
Are you ready to sing a song, dance a jig, shake your booty and get funky like a monkey? Or maybe we can just do the “Fact or Fiction” thing, music edition, instead. Yeah, that sounds a whole lot better, especially if you’ve ever heard me sing before or watched me dance. It’s NOT a pretty sight. The comments below come from my friends over at 411mania.com/music. And the rest is just little ‘ol me. Let’s do this…
There’s no merit to the lawsuit against Taylor Swift over “Shake it Off”.
FACT: Taylor used a common phrase and made it into a song. People just trying to cash in on her success and steal her thunder. Damn, I sound ghetto as hell in the way I phrased that. Or is it my imagination? Doesn’t matter really though. The lawsuit is a waste of everyone’s time and a total piece of trash.
“Imperfection” was an impressive return track from Evanescence.
FACT: Amy Lee sounds great and the song is really good, as good as anything that Evanescence did in the past. I like it. Good job by Amy and the band. They definitely still have it.
Gucci Mane and the Weeknd’s song “Curve” was enjoyable.
FICTION: I went and listened and wasn’t impressed. It’s not really bad, but it’s nothing special either and is just “bleh” at best. I’m not impressed.
The video for Linkin Park’s “One More Light” was a touching tribute to Chester Bennington.
FACT: It’s a good video and I’ll even admit I had a few allergy problems while watching the video and I’m not even a fan of Linkin Park or Chester Bennington. It’s a nice way to pay respect to their friend and was well done.
The Foo Fighters’ new album Concrete and Gold is another solid LP.
FACT: The Foo Fighters – keeping the world safe from Foo for the past two decades. Ok, that was a lame joke I stole from David Letterman, but there is nothing lame about their new LP. It’s solid and the tracks I’ve listened to so far are pretty damn good. I think I’m going to end up buying this one. The Foo Fighters are back and better than ever.
You have no interest in a Travis Scott/Quavo collaborative album.
FACT: I have no idea who either guy is and after having to go to Wikipedia to look them up and learn more, I’m finding that I still don’t care. So they’re doing an album together? Whatever? It’s no big deal to me. I could care less.
And there you go. I’m through. I know this was short, but I can only work with what they give me and besides, I have other things to do. He’s 22 and cute. Ten Days of Dougie starts on Monday so look for that. Comments and thoughts are welcome and appreciated. And until the next time, stay safe and have a great night.
