Tossing Salt Presents:
Wrestling Fact or Fiction
January 21, 2018
It’s not quite 1:00am and I’m bored out of my freakin’ mind. I could go do laundry, but that kind of sucks. So what in the hell should a man do? How about a little of that Fact or Fiction stuff, wrestling style? That sounds like a plan to me. The comments on which I am remarking on come from my good friends over at 411mania.com/wrestling. And the rest, that’s just me. Let’s do this…
1. Chris Jericho’s NJPW run will add to his case of him being an all time great.
FACT: He doesn’t need it, but another night in the spotlight and showcasing the skills of Jericho certainly can’t hurt, can it? Jericho has managed to keep himself relevant for well over twenty-plus years and his legacy as one of the best is definitely secure and safe. But he continues to add and build and just keep reinventing the wheel again and again. He’s truly an one-of-a-kind performer and one of the best ever. This run with NJPW, when he could easily just sit back and rest on his laurels, helps prove that once again.
2. EC3 & Bobby Lashley will end up in WWE in 2018.
FACT: EC3 has already been spotted working out down at the Performance Center in Florida and Lashley is pretty much a lock to be returning once he’s free of his Impact contract as well. It’s not if, but just when. I expect we’ll see EC3 at the Rumble and probably also see the return of Chris Masters too, I hope.
3. You have been completely under whelmed by Woken Matt Hardy so far.
FACT: So far, it has been less than excellent, but the same can be said for the entire Hardy run thus far since their return last year at Wrestlemania. Matt is having to work his character around the restrictions that are WWE, something that he didn’t have to deal with at TNA / Impact, so it’s going to take longer to really get the character over and woken if you will. Matt can and will do it though. I have faith in him and the “Woken Matt” character. It’s just taking a little longer than everyone was expecting.
4. Ronda Rousey will not be in the Women’s Royal Rumble.
FACT: I think we might see her show up and maybe cost Asuka the win or be there to issue a challenge, but so far as being an actual participant in the Rumble, I don’t think that’s the role that WWE has planned for her.
5. Who do you want to see the most as a surprise women’s Royal Rumble entrant?
Lisa Moretti, aka “Ivory”. She was, is and will always be my “beloved” so far as female wrestlers go.
6. Who do you want to see the most as a surprise men’s Royal Rumble entrant?
Glen Gilberti, aka “The Disco Inferno”, just to hear him cut a promo saying that the only reason everyone is there is to see the Disco Inferno dance and also to remind everyone that “it’s your duty to shake your booty!” Hell, have Alex Wright and Tokyo Magnum accompany him to the ring and let’s see a “Dancing Fools” reunion. I’d be happy.
And there you go. I’m through. Comments, thoughts and especially questions for future Q&A’s are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and stay warm. Love ya – mean it.
