Are you ready to get all political? Let’s do some of that “Opposing Views” stuff that we do. The questions come from a left-leaning political site out of California called “Opposing Views”, hence the name. They are anything but “fair and balanced” in their views, but the questions they ask are pretty decent sometimes. And the opinions expressed answering said questions, that’s all me. Let’s do this..

Would you support President Trump if he decided to make English America’s official language?

English is the most commonly used language in the United States and it only makes sense that people who come to this country and live in this country learn how to speak and read English. Being the “official language” is a moot point. If you don’t have at least a basic grasp on how to write, read and speak at least some English, you can’t communicate or participate in our society with any real purpose or understanding. If Trump does do a resolution making English the official language, so be it. Good call.

Agree or disagree: No gun control laws will stop criminals from shooting people.

All the laws in the world don’t matter if a criminal wants to shoot someone. They’re why they’re called “criminals”. They don’t care about or pay attention to laws. All gun control laws do is put restrictions on the law-abiding citizens that are only looking for ways to protect themselves and their families. They hurt the ones that they’re supposed to protect and the ones that they’re supposed to hamper and restrict, it just makes things easier for them.

Hillary Clinton says it’s time for all Americans to come together and demand common sense gun control laws. Do you agree with her?

Hillary is about as screwed up in the head as a person can be and still be walking around. She’s surrounded by armed bodyguards so how can we take seriously anything she has to say about gun control when it wouldn’t apply to her. Common sense guns control laws are good and necessary, but laws that take away the rights of the private citizens and violate the Second Amendment rights of said citizens, which is what Clinton seems to advocate, are anything but common sense.

President Trump is making a serious push to crack down on welfare fraud. Do you agree or disagree with his decision?

How can anyone disagree with this? If a person needs help, so be it, but if a person has made living off the government and welfare as a lifestyle, that needs to be shut down and brought to an end. If someone is trying to scam others, be it the government or other individuals, they need to be stopped and brought to justice.

Mike Ditka says there’s no question Obama was the worst president of the last 100 years. Do you think he’s right?

I think Jimmy Carter critics might disagree, but I won’t. Obama’s policies hurt our nation and he was a poor leader and President. I’ll agree with Ditka on this on.

Agree or disagree: People should need to prove they are citizens if they want to receive welfare.

Agree. If you’re not a citizen and here legally, why should you be getting taxpayer money and government aide? I’m all for charity and helping others, but I’m also for looking out for citizens first before dishing out benefits to people who are here illegally and don’t even have enough respect for our nation to obey our laws.

Who was the better First Lady: Nancy Reagan or Michelle Obama?

Both had their good points and bad ones too. Obama had her agenda and was a good partner for Barack and they made a potent political team. Reagan wasn’t about the politics, but her priority was protecting her husband first and everything else came second. Each marched to the beat of their own drummer, doing things their own way and performing as the First Lady in their own way and manner. It’s like comparing oranges and apples in that they’re both fruits, but that’s about it. I can’t compare them.

Trump says he’s accomplished more in his first year as president than almost anyone in history. Do you think he’s doing a good job?

Look at the facts and the stats. Unemployment down. Economy growing and getting stronger. Illegal immigration down. Stock market on the rise. A Supreme Court Justice. Trump is getting things done and kudos to him for that.

Do you think people need to accept that Trump is president and give him a chance to succeed?

If Trump succeeds and does well as President, it’s good for ALL of us. It’s just common sense and in everyone’s own benefit for Trump to do well.

Teddy Roosevelt believed that every immigrant who came to America should be required to learn English within five years. Would you support that policy today?

Teddy was right and I would definitely support such a policy.

Do you support a homeowner’s right to use a firearm on an intruder?

If a person breaks into a home or threatens a person’s safety or the safety of their family, all bets are off and the homeowner should have every right to do whatever is necessary, including use of a firearm. Once a criminal decides to break the law and intrude into someone’s home or business and threaten their safety, they have forfeited any rights they may have had and deserve whatever they get… period.

And that’s all for now. Comments, questions and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Let me know what you think? Am I right, wrong or just freakin’ crazy. I want to know. And now, I’m down and gone. Have a great one and I’ll catch you on the flip side. Take care.
