Wrestling Fact or Fiction

Getting ready for a fun day at the work-hole and trying to play catch-up here at the site too. Let’s do this! It’s the “Fact or Fiction” thing, the wrestling edition. The statements come from my friends over at 411mania.com/wrestling. And the rest, it’s all me baby! Let’s go for the gusto and do this…

1. If it were up to you, you would push Braun Strowman as THE TOP GUY in WWE.

FICTION: I would have Strowman as ONE of the top guys, but I don’t like the idea of just one or two folks at the top of the card dominating everyone else. I liked it back in the older days when there were always at least four or five top guys hovering at the top of the card and then another four or five just below them so that main events could be kept fresh and exciting and things were never as predictable. Braun is very hot right now and WWE needs to run with it, but I’d like to also see them elevate a few others in the process while doing so.

2. WWE going back to dual branded PPVs is a good idea.

FICTION: I can see the reasoning behind it, but I like it where each show gets their own opportunity to be in the spotlight every so often without having to compete with the other brand. We see more of the lower-card talents get chances on the pay-per-views when the cards are single branded and that’s a good thing. With all of the shows going to being both RAW and Smackdown, spots will be more limited and less people will have the opportunity to show their stuff. Not good.

3. Rey Mysterio will not be back in WWE in 2018.

FICTION: Rey isn’t getting any younger and looks to be in great shape right now so if WWE is going to make the call and bring the man in, they need to get to stepping and do so. Rey wants a lighter schedule and that seems to be the holding point thus far, but I think that they’ll work something out, probably after Wrestlemania. I’m not a big Mysterio fan, but he’s a name and probably what the 205 brand could use right now.

4. Despite the charges being dropped by the prosecutor’s office due to “insufficient evidence” in his domestic assault case, Rich Swann will never return to the WWE. NOTE: This was sent and answered prior to Swann & WWE parting ways.

FICTION: Never is a mighty long time and you can never say “never” about anything with the WWE. After all, look who’s getting put into the Hall of Fame this year. Swann was released by WWE after this question was sent out so he’s gone for now, but if the guy keeps his nose clean, works on his reputation and does well for a while, I’m sure he’ll be back at WWE sooner rather than later.

5. You are more interested in the Fastlane main event now that Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler have been added.

FICTION: Sami, AJ and Owens, I’m interested in seeing. The rest, not so much. I like them well enough, but let them wrestle a match of their own instead and let the title match be kept down to a smaller scale a fewer people. That’s more interesting to me.

6. Waffles are superior to pancakes.

FICTION: I love me some waffles to be sure, but nothing beats a big old stack of pancakes, covered with butter and syrup. Waffles are fast, easy and for a quick meal. Pancakes are for luxary and sitting back and eating in style. At least that’s how I see it.

And there you go. Comments, questions, thoughts, etc, all welcome and appreciated. Thank you for reading and I’ll catch you later. I think I’m going to go grab me a waffle. (I don’t have time for pancakes.) Until the next time, I love ya.

Ubuntu!
