Tossing Salt Presents:
March 3, 2018
I am so far behind on my writing right now. You should see the huge stack of stuff that I have piled up over the past couple of weeks while I’ve been recovering from a kick-ass version of the flu-bug. Well, that and spending way too much time on Grindr. But I will get caught up eventually. As for now, I have a few minutes before I have to go to work this lovely (and chilly) AM so let’s do a quick “Wrestling Q&A”. Film at 11:00.
Bret or Shawn?
Both men were excellent performers in the ring and if I had only these two to choose from, it’s a tough call. I think Shawn was a total dick back in the day and Bret has turned into a self-absorbed cry-baby as he’s gotten older, but in the ring, Shawn was the best overall performer. He could wrestle, talk, be serious or do comedy and just was more of the total package. Ric Flair was better than either for his era and Arn Anderson could (should) have gotten a better puch than either as well because, well, he’s “Double A”. But of these two, I’ll go with HBK.
Should WWE turn Charlotte Flair heel again?
Right now, it’d be meaningless as are most face / heel turns. Wait until there’s a reason and purpose for the heel turn and make it matter. Right now, there just isn’t any reason I can see to upset the dynamics on Smackdown Live for the women.
So how excited are you about Brock vs Roman feud now?
Nope, not really.
Macho Man Randy Savage or The American Dream Dusty Rhodes – Which wrestler (to you) was more unintentionally hilarious?
Both men were unique and original performers and talents and even though their shtick was often funny at times, they still came across mostly as serious and bad-ass men ninety-nine percent of the time. I think Dusty had more moments, looking back now, that were silly and unrealistic than Macho did. Much respect to both guys though because when it came time to get serious and do their thing in that ring, both men were among the best of their time.
Vince or Shane? Who was the better wrestler?
I respect Vince more as a wrestler because Shane is too much of a spot monkey for my tastes, but Vince’s style was more of a brawling thing. Shane is the better all-around in ring performer.
And there you go. I’m through and have to leave now to get ready for work. More tonight as I play catch-up. Thanks for reading. Thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care.
