Tossing Salt Presents:
March 19, 2018
Greetings and welcome. It’s time to get some of the Q&A mailbag cleared out. The questions come from my Facebook timeline and largely the KoK (Kult of Kayfabe). I’m providing the answers. And it’s all about the world’s greatest sport that we all know and love, professional wrestling. Let’s do this…
Why not name the women’s battle royal after Sherri Martel?
Because as awesome and revered as Sherri is, she passed away due to a drug overdose. That’s not much of a blemish when you compare to the things that Moolah has been accused of, but it’s enough for the trying to be politically correct as possible WWE. Beyond Moolah and Mae Young, who’s already honored with the tournament, there aren’t many women of legend status who also have totally clean histories. The late Penny Banner would be a good person to pick in my opinion or maybe Mildred Burke, but the selections that the current fans would know and recognize are few and far between.
Sean “X-Pac” Waltman. Hall of Fame worthy?
Absolutely. For his battles against Razor Ramon in the WWF, his part in the Monday Night Wars between WCW and the WWE or for his role as a member of both the nWo and DX, the first person to be part of both groups. Waltman has his demons to be sure and when he goes into the HOF, I’m sure it’ll be as part of DX rather than as a solo act, much the same way Chyna will be inducted. But does he deserve a spot? To be sure, he most definitely does.
Can Carmella cash in on either women’s title or just on SD?
Only Smackdown. She won the Smackdown version of the Money In The Bank Ladder Match and her contract is only good against the Smackdown version of the Women’s Champion.
Would you like to see Elias take on the Rock in a Sing off competition at WM35?
At Wrestlemania itself? Nope. I want to see wrestling and great matches and watching two men, even guys like Elias and the Rock, who I greatly enjoy, strum on their guitars for thirty minutes just doesn’t excite me in the least. If there was to be an encounter during the go-home edition of RAW, that might be interesting and fun to see. And if (when) Jeff Jarrett and Elias crack guitars over each other’s head sometime during the Wrestlemania event, that would be great. But I want action and not words or songs, not even from The Rock.
Seven title matches and a 50-Man Rumble. Is ‘Greatest Royal Rumble’ approaching Big 4 levels of importance?
It means that WWE is pulling out all the stops to celebrate a great deal and return to Saudi Arabia. Is this event as big as one of the big four shows? It’s nearly there and I just hope that the WWE films and shows this event on the Network as a special. And as a regular event? Maybe not, but it’s a big time event for a very big and important situation for now and anything goes.
Out of the current roster other than Cena and Orton who are a lock, who do you think will be definite WWE Hall of famers say 15 years from now?
Miz is a definite lock. The Undertaker, since he’s apparently back to wrestle Cena, is also a lock. I think that Kane, Seth Rollins, Roman and Sheamus are all also definite Hall of Famers in their future lives. And for the women, Charlotte and Mickie James are my two most obvious picks.
What’s your dream women’s match?
A ten women elimination match for Survivor Series with the “Legends Team” of Trish, Victoria, Molly Holly, Lita and Ivory taking on the “Superstars Team” of Charlotte, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & Becky Lynch, with special referee Madusa. And of course, the “Legends” win.
And there you go. Thoughts, comments and especially questions are welcome, encouraged and appreciated. Let me know what you think. And now, I have to get ready for work. Time to sell the liquor. Have a great one and I’ll catch you later. Take care.
