And it goes a little something like this. Hit it! This is Fact or Fiction, the music edition. The questions come from my friends at 411mania.com/music. The answers and opinions come from me. And cheese comes from Wisconsin. Let’s do this…
1. Nicki Minaj’s new album is exciting news.
FICTION: Please excuse me while I yawn and totally not give a damn. Nicki Minaj, with the exception of that short run on American Idol, hasn’t been relevent in quite a while. I don’t like her music and from what I saw of her personality during the Idol fiasco, I’m not crazy about her either. Some folks may be excited. I’m not one of them.
2. A radio station banning Kanye West’s music for his comments is going too far.
FICTION: It’s an obvious over-reaction and reflects more on the stupidity of the radio people than Kayne, although he’s an ass-clown in his own right too, but whatever. If the radio station doesn’t want to play his music, that’s their business. It is a private business and they have every right to decide what to and not to play over their airways. It’s just that simple. It makes them look petty, childish and like a bunch of pricks, but in today’s Snowflake world were other opinions are not allowed unless they agree with yours and free speech is pretty much a thing of the past, it’s what they do. More power to the jack-asses.
3. Celine Dion’s “Ashes” video was funny.
FACT: It was a funny video, especially from someone who takes themselves as seriously as Dion and it’s actually a really good song too. It’s the theme song for Deadpool 2 which is an extra bonus. Just some really good stuff here and I don’t even like Celine Dion.
4. The news of American Idol’s renewal isn’t surprising.
FACT: It’s American Idol and while it’s a long ways from what it was on FOX back in the 2000’s, it’s still doing quite well. I expect that unless something really drastic happens, Idol will be safe at ABC for some time to come.
5.You’re interested in the Meek Mill docuseries about his incarceration.
FICTION: The only thing I find interesting at all about Meek Mill are his legal problems and the incarceration and all of the info on that, I can find by actually reading and watching the news. Just another stupid idiot who didn’t realize that actions have consequences. This might end up being a good docuseries, but I’ll never know.
6. A Rihanna reggae album sounds like a bad idea.
FACT: Unless Rihanna has been smoking lots of the ganja and has possessed by the spirit of Bob Marley or at least Bradley Nowell, I just can’t see a reggae album working out too well. I might be wrong and it may turn out to be great, but the question says “sounds like a bad idea” and to me, this just doesn’t sound like something that would work out too well or be good.
And that’s all of this for now. Thank you for reading. Questions, comments and anything else is welcome. Until the next time, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. I think I was just possessed by the spirit of Casey Kasem. Have a great one and I’ll catch you later.
