Tossing Salt Presents:
NXT Takeover Brooklyn 4
Thoughts & Predictions
Coming up on Saturday night, it’s the NXT Takeover: Brooklyn event as the WWE’s third brand invades the Barclay Center and has what looks to be a spectacular event scheduled. Here we go with what I think should happen and who I think will be the winners and losers on this Summerslam Eve event. Let’s break out the crystal ball and get to to get all psychic and shit. Let’s do this…
WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano in a Last Man Standing match. Aleister Black has been removed from main event due to injury.
Aleister Black was removed from this match and I don’t think it will matter to Ciampa and Gargano at all. They will brawl all over the arena, have one hell of a match and do their best to be the best match of the entire weekend for the WWE. The way I see this, the last time these two men fought, Gargano came out on top, so this time, he should dominate the majority of the match, but let the heel that Ciampa has become rear his head and steal the win at the last second. I expect that we’ll see Candice get involved and that will be the deciding factor. Look for Ciampa to retain his title and get the win.
Winner and STILL NXT Champion: Tommaso Ciampa
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane
Easily two of the best women talents in NXT right now and this should be a great match and contrast of styles with Sane and her flying moves versus the ground and pound style of the champion, Baszler. It’s too soon in my opinion to take the belt off of Baszler. She’s really just starting to make her impact and presence felt as the champion and I think that she should keep the belt at least until Evolution. So a great match and Sane comes just so close, but in the end, she’s just another victim.
Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Shayna Baszler
WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era vs. Moustache Mountain.
This should be a really fun match between two really good teams. I read someone somewhere compared the Undisputed Era to and called them the “Horsemen of NXT”. I can’t really disagree with that comparison. Before all is said and done, I expect to see the NXT Tag Team Titles change hands many times between these two teams over the next few months. It’s just a feeling I have. And I think it will all start on Saturday night.
Winners and NEW NXT Tag Team Champions: Moustache Mountain
WWE NXT North American Champion Adam Cole vs. Ricochet
Ricochet is good. He’s really good and pretty much a walking highlight reel all by himself. But Cole is so damn good too and I think he has much more to still offer NXT before eventually heading up to the main roster. He’s really just coming into his own as the Champ and I don’t think it’s time for him to drop the title just yet.
Winner and STILL North American Champion: Adam Cole
EC3 vs. Velveteen Dream
This match is a hard one to call. Dream and EC3 are two of the top characters in NXT right now and they’ve gone back and forth so many times, it really truly can go either way. I think that Dream needs a win here though far more than EC3 does, especially if the rumors that Carter may be called up to the main roster soon are true. I’ll go with Dream getting the nod here and being the one to take that esteemed trip to the pay window.
Winner: Velveteen Dream
And there you go. Am I right? Am I wrong? We’ll all find out together on Saturday night on what I expect will be a fantastic show by the talents and stars of NXT. I’ll be back tomorrow with my Summerslam predictions. Until then, take it easy and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
