Tossing Salt Presents:
Sid, Hogan, Titus and More…
September 30, 2018
Questions about the world’s greatest sport? You have them or at least long time reader and occasional drinking buddy Jerry had them. And I’ve got the answers right here. Let’s do this…
Is Sid Vicious WWE Hall of Fame worthy?
A multiple time WWE and WCW World Champion, a former member of the Horsemen and a man who headlined Wrestlemania? While I personally think that Sid is a big over-rated and kind of a flake at times, I won’t ignore that he was a big deal for a long time and had a great career that is most definitely worthy of any pro wrestling Hall of Fame.
In your opinion, what’s the biggest difference between Hulk Hogan, John Cena and Roman Reigns?
Hogan was more politics and charisma than actual ability in the ring. Cena is a good mix of ring talent and charisma. And Roman is a damn good worker in that ring, possibly even better all around than either Cena or Hogan, but he just hasn’t found that connection, character wise, to the majority of the fans and audience. While all three were “pushed on us by Vince”, Cena and Hogan felt like top guys and big stars. Roman doesn’t seem comfortable as if he belongs there… yet.
Will Hulk Hogan be at WWE Crown Jewel?
If the Saudi’s want him there (and they’re footing the bill), then the answer will be yes. And in my opinion, WWE needs to go ahead and just let him come back already. It’s Hulk Hogan and while I will never claim to be a Hulkamaniac (he’s definitely no Flair, Hart, HBK, Punk, Cena, etc), he’s a big part of the reason why there even is a WWE today and he should be a part of the WWE today as well.
Has there ever been a wrestler that you were certain to be a big star, but for whatever reason, it just didn’t happen?
Two names immediately come to mind with this question. Sean O’Haire is the first one. He had the look, the size, the ability and really was, in my opinion, a major star waiting to happen and it just didn’t work out. Due to some Piper related situations, he was released by WWE and things went downhill from there and he never recovered, eventually becoming a victim of suicide. The other example is TNA Impact wrestler Crimson. I look at this guy and while he’s not the best, I saw charisma and a certain “It” about him that made him stand out. He seemed on the right track and then just sort of faded away and vanished. I don’t even know if he’s still wrestling anymore. But anyhow, those are the first two guys that came to mind that had it all and should have been bigger than they were, but just weren’t.
Who would you like to see show up as a surprise at Evolution?
The names that immediately come to my mind are Madusa (Alundra Blayze), Ivory, Victoria and Molly Holly. the best women of the Attitude Era and beyond. And wouldn’t it be a hoot if we saw a cameo by the original “First Lady of Wrestling” Missy Hyatt? That would be, as the Miz would say, “AWESOME!”.
Should Titus O’Neil become a full time manager?
Well it’s the only thing that sets him apart from the other jobbers and talents on RAW so I would say “Yes!”. Maybe if he was just a manager instead of a manager / wrestler, things would work out better for him and his potential clients.
Which team do you think will win tag team gold first? Authors of Pain, The Revival or Breezango?
I’d love to see The Revival get their shots with the belts, but I don’t think that will happen now unless they move to Smackdown and become part of that tag team division. The Revival versus The Usos would be big money in my eyes. Breezango is currently on the MIA list as Fandango is injured and Tyler Breeze has been working NXT dates. So that leaves the AOP and with the tiny, but dangerous Drake Maverick by their sides, I think they have the best chances of being Raw Tag Team Champions at some point.
And there you go. Questions, thoughts and comments are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, support your local Indy wrestling events. Have a great one and always remember that then, now and forever, it’s your duty to shake your booty! Have a great one.
