The Rolling Stones may say that time is on their side and we all know that Keith Richards is a robot or clone that will never age or get any older, but it’s not on my side this morning. I don’t have the time for this, but Lauren sent me some music themed questions and I’m going to do a quick Q&A session with them. It’s 5 Questions and it’s all about the music, my Peeps. Let’s do this…

How would you rank the past 5 decades in terms of music?

The past five decades would be the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, early 2000’s and now. The best decade for music was definitely the 70’s. It was all solid and good and about new sounds that still remain fresh even to this day. The 80’s was the MTV era and they were throwing anything and everything out there, trying new sounds and breaking all the rules. A great time for music as well. The 90’s saw the emergence of the hair bands and was a mixed bag as context began to have meaning, but also saw the big gains by rap artists. It was a time for a country boom as well. The early 2000’s and today’s music as well is pretty much unoriginal and generic. There is some good stuff out there, but a lot of “eh” stuff as well that wouldn’t have had a second listen in earlier years. So from best to worst, it would be 70’s, 80’s 90’s and then 2000 on…

Best song by the Rolling Stones?

So many to choose from, but my personal favorite is “Mixed Emotions”. That song has meaning for me because I live it and have mixed emotions, listen to my brain or my heart, each and every day.

If VH1 was to bring back their “Divas” concert, who would you like to see featured?

I’d do a combination of old and new with Dolly Parton, Cher, Tina Turner, Gladys Knight, Pink, Miley, J-Lo, Rickie Lee Jones & Haley Reinhardt.

Favorite “boy band”?

Boy bands come and go,but for some reason, my favorite has always been NKOTB, better known now as the not-so New Kids On The Block. They had good songs, good music and Jordon was hot!  In other words, they had “the Right Stuff”…

Would you be interested in seeing a 2019 reboot / remake of the RHPS?

NO!

And there you go. My thanks for reading. I have to go get ready for work now. Until the next time, take care and stay safe.

Ubuntu!
