Tossing Salt Presents:
NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff
Thoughts & Predictions
NXT UK Takeover: Cardiff is tonight and I’m so far behind on everything, it isn’t even funny. Here’s a quick take on what should go down tonight, live on the WWE Network. Where my Sister Cleo hat at? Let’s do this…
WWE UK Champion WALTER vs. Tyler Bate.
Bate has been fighting WALTER and his associates in The Imperium and they’ve really giving him and partner Trent Seven a hard way to go for what seems like forever now. The way to make this a great feel-good story would be to have Bate overcome the odds and get past the brutality and chop-city that is WALTER and take the title, but I can’t see it happening just yet. I think Bate will fight til the end and give it is all, but in the end, it’s the strength in numbers and the powers that be WALTER that will get their arms raised in the end.
Winner and STILL WWE UK Champion: WALTER
WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion Toni Storm vs. Kay Lee Ray.
Storm has been and is an amazing talent and is really taking her run with the NXT UK Women’s Championship to the next level, but much like Steamboat and Flair back in the day, Ray has managed to stay in her head and has dominated the mental game of chess against the current champ. And for that, I think that this will be the actual feel-good for the night. We’re going to have a new champion here.
Winner and NEW WWE NXT UK Women’s Champion: Kay Lee Ray
WWE NXT UK Tag Team Champions The Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster vs. Gallus.
Andrews and Webster are the local boys and will be the favorites here, but all three teams are amazing and fun to watch. The GYV have been great as champions and have really made their mark, but I think that their days are numbered as the tag team title holders. Look for the hometown kids to take home a big win.
Winners and NEW WWE NXT UK Tag Team Champions: Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster
Dave Mastiff vs. Joe Coffey in a Last Man Standing Match.
Mastiff is a big monster in that ring and does things that no one should be able to do, especially at that size. He’ll dominate and kick ass most of the match. But I have a feeling that Coffey is the one that will be getting the push here and maybe even moving on to future shots against WALTER. If that’s the case, he’ll need to win here and that’s just what happens. Mastiff misses a big spot and Coffey manages to turn it into a lucky win.
Winner: Joe Coffey
Noam Dar vs. Travis Banks.
Dar is a great heel and one of the best things seen weekly on 205 Live and he doesn’t need to win here. He’s already over to a big degree and plays the cocky, arrogant bastard to well, how this match ends won’t affect him one way or the other. Banks is a good talent on the rise and a loss here could derail any kind of momentum and push for the young man. It makes for sense for Banks to pick up a quick win here.
Winner: Travis Banks
And there you go. My apologies for my lack of smart-ass comments and the late hour this is going up, but I had to keep it short and have to get ready for an eleven hour day of work now so no time for love, Mrs. Jones. Thanks for reading. Any thoughts, comments or questions, drop me a line and give me a shout. Enjoy both the NXT UK Takeover special and AEW All Out this weekend. I know I will, if I make it though today at work. Oh vey! Have a good one and I’ll catch you later.
By the way, congrats to Brent. Love you bro. I’ll e-mail you tonight or tomorrow. Snootchie Bootchies. Have a great one.
