Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Brock and More
November 21, 2019
I’m just sitting here waiting around until time to leave for a Doctor’s appointment and I had the realization that I actually have some free time and no distractions (except the cat of course). And as I said that, my phone rang. What the… ?? Anyways, since I have a few minutes, this would be a good time to update my poor neglected site that bears my name. I went to my mailbox to see if any questions were waiting and there are a slew of them. I guess that means another Q&A later today since there are so many, but for now, I just want to do a quick ten that have been sitting there for a while from the esteemed Jay from CT. Yeah, I know that I should have tackled these about three weeks ago at least, but better late than never, right? My apologies to the man. And now, let’s get busy and whoop these suckers before I have to leave to be poked, prodded, fondled and stabbed. I hate seeing the doctor. *sighs* Let’s do this…
1.) Have you enjoyed Sasha or Bayley more as a heel so far in this run?
I really haven’t been watching much of either, but Sasha always has that heel quality kicking and going strong. For Bayley, it was much overdue and needed and she’s been doing a great job thus far and is killing it. I actually like watching Bayley perform when I get the chance and I think this is what she needed to take it to the next level in her career.
2.) Do you think Seth Rollins is getting a little stale (I love the guy but just been hearing some people say that)?
Seth has, in my opinion, been stale for a while. He’s on auto-mode it seems and my interest in him is fading fast due to over exposure. He’s turning into John Cena and that’s probably not a good thing.
3.) Just looking for a prediction do you see a year from now AEW or NXT being more successful?
NXT is established and there is a game plan in play to expand and grow with the power of the WWE behind it. AEW seems to be all over the place and while it’s got some really good stuff going on with the Inner Circle and Luchasaurus, there’s a lot of craziness and chaos as well. The people and fans seem to be losing interest in AEW just as quickly as they came aboard and if they don’t step up their game and improve the product, these fans will start walking away and quit watching the shows. I think NXT has the stronger future and chance for survival.
4.) I have always said I wanted to see my Jets in the superbowl before I die but at the rate they’re going (this is 9 years in a row they won’t make the playoffs even) I just hope I see them in the playoffs again some year! Why can’t they turn it around and at least be pretty good like they were under Parcells, Herm and Rex?
Because they’re the Jets… and they suck! But hell, I’m a Panther fan so what do I know?
5.) Did you dress up as a kid for Halloween and what was your favorite costume? Mine was Batman. My brother dressed up as He-Man (his favorite) and my other brother dressed up as Hulk Hogan one year.
I remember being a clown, being Daniel Boone and being a vampire a few times. My favorite was the year I went in drag. I was an ugly ass drag queen to be sure. But it was fun so what the hell.
6.) Is WWE going to try harder than they normally do the last quarter of the year since AEW is launching?
Competition brings out the best in WWE and Vince so yes, I think they will tweak things up a bit and do their best to kick AEW’s ass.
7.) I know this is my question every year at the end of the year but do you think with the way Punk actually said he would take a phone call from WWE that is a sign we may see him wrestle again?
Well, he’s working for FOX on a WWE program and has said, “Never say never” so I think it’s a strong possibility. It’s just a matter of picking the right spot and opponent for the “Best In The World”.
8.) Would you only let Brock win the title on SD if he’s going to show up every week?
Every week with Brock would lead to over-exposure and weaken his character. He works better in small doses with Paul Heyman showing up to be his advocate each week instead. And as you know by now, he did win the WWE Championship from Kofi and then quit the Smackdown brand to go back over to RAW. And with Brock, that was probably the best move WWE can make.
9.) Will WWE ever treat NXT as an equal to Raw and SD now that they have their own show on t.v.?
Well, in the build to this weekend’s Survivor Series, NXT has been getting the gold star treatment from WWE and has been presented as an equal to both RAW and Smackdown. Do I think it will last? Probably not, but then again, RAW was always considered the A-show and Smackdown was the B-show and until this deal with Fox showed up with the big money, the two brands were never really considered equal anyways. I don’t think Vince will ever consider NXT equal to his two babies, but so long as HHH has control of NXT and leads the brand, I don’t think it really matters.
10.) Best Autumn Apple Treat: Apple Cider, Apple Crisp, Apple Pie?
What? No pumpkin spice? I guess we’re not teenage girls so that particular flavor is not important. It’s all about the Apple and I like Apple Crown Royal. Of the items you’ve listed though, I guess I’ll go with the pie. I like pie. Everyone likes pie. The Rock likes pie. And nothing is more American than apple pie.
So there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, questions or anything else, please drop me a line. And now, I have to go brush my teeth and finish getting ready. Wish me luck. I hate doctor appointments. Until the next time, stay safe and be happy and remember to support your local Indy wrestling. See ya later.
