Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Puppies, X-Pac, Steroids & More
December 15, 2019
Food morning. It’s Sunday morning coming down and I have Johnny Cash rocking on the computer, playing the song “Sunday Morning Coming Down” ironically enough. I’ve put on mycleanest dirty shirt and wish I had a beer. I’ll settle for a Diet Dew though. Welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. The questions this morning are courtesy of Matthew and Jesse. And the answers, that’s just fate, life and me. So are you ready? Let’s do this…
Who would win in a match between Chyna and Ronda Rousey?
Chyna would definitely have the size and strength advantage, but let’s be honest here. Rousey is a skilled fighter with a trip to the Olympics and a background in judo and MMA as part of her resume. She’s the real day and Chyna wouldn’t last five minutes in a match, worked or shoot. Rousey wins.
Thoughts on the NWA bringing back the NWA World Television Championship?
I’ve long advocated for the WWE to institute a “Television Championship”, but since they’re not interested, it’s great to see the NWA pick up the ball and run with it instead. So many great legends such as Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Dusty Rhodes, Mark Youngblood, etc, have worn this title in the past and it’s history is proud and true. Remember what an outstanding job that William Regal, then working as Lord Steven Regal, did as a heel defending that esteemed title in WCW. I’m happy to see it back and it’s long overdue in my opinion.
What if we’re fake and wrestling is real?
That sounds about right to me. I’ve known this for years.
Should X-Pac be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame for his nWo membership?
Nothing against Sean Waltman, but he was NOT a founding member of the nWo. That distinction falls to and only to Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan, the men who were there at that infamous Bash At The Beach battle against Luger, Sting and Randy Savage. Waltman didn’t join until a few weeks later and actually, Ted DiBiase was there first so where is the “Million Dollar Man”? And Eric Bischoff was the man who made it happen behind the scenes and then on-screen as well as the leader of the nWo so why isn’t Bischoff part of the Induction? Waltman has already earned his HOF ring as part of DX and that one was well deserved. This induction, not quite so much.
Why did Jerry “The King” Lawler refer to women and their breasts as “puppies”?
If I recall correctly, it’s because Lawler considered female breasts to be cute and cuddly and he just always wanted to play with them. They come in all shapes and sizes and The King loved them all. He’s such an animal lover, always a big fan of puppies of all sizes.
Jim Ross has said that steroids should be allowed in wrestling. Do you agree?
While I can see his point considering that wrestling is theater and not an actual sport, I don’t agree. Steroids have long term effects that take their toll on both the body and mind. It’s not called “Roid Rage” for nothing and so far as the body goes, “Superstar Billy Graham”… ‘Nuff said! I’ve witnessed the abuse of steroids up close and personal too many times with a couple of friends of mine and in my opinion, the negatives far outweigh the benefits. It should be a personal decision, but if use of these performance enhancing drugs and mood / mind altering substances can be prevented, I think that’s a far better deal in the big picture of things. So keep them on the “no no” list. At least, I know I would if it was my call.
And there you go. My thanks again to Matthew and Jesse for the questions and thank you for reading. Any questions, comments or thoughts, drop me a line and remember, we don’t do political correctness around here. No subject is off limits and anything goes. And now, I’m out of here. Have a great one, stay safe and I’ll see you at the matches.
