Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Big Show & Returns, R-Truth, Erick Rowan & More
January 8, 2020
Good morning. Thanks to Cheese and Matthew for the questions. And now, let’s provide some answers. Let’s do this…
Are you excited to see the Big Show back in WWE?
I guess so. It’s been a while since Show was in the ring and while he’s not a big favorite of mine, he’s a familiar face and can always be counted on to be entertaining. And now we can sit and wait as to how long before he does a heel turn on Samoa Joe & Kevin Owens. In all honesty though, Show’s years are winding down and he’s got a television show on Netflix now, coming out in April I think, and another potential show on network TV. We’d best enjoy him while we still can and before he goes to Hollywood permanently.
Thoughts on Brock Lesnar entering the Royal Rumble at the #1 spot?
It’s an interesting twist. If he wins, does he challenge the Universal Champion at Mania? I think this is just a way to determine who Brock can fight with while the WWE sets up for Mania. Whoever manages to eliminate Brock at the Rumble can fight him at the pay-per-view that comes next before Mania and this way, it opens up the possibilities that he can fight someone from Smackdown or NXT and it doesn’t necessarily have to be a RAW Superstar.
Do you see Andrade as a future WWE or World Champion?
Somewhere down the line, I can see it happening. The man can work in that ring, he can talk and has it all. He’s a future champion to be sure.
What do you think Erick Rowan has in the cage?
If Mick Foley was asked, he’d say it’s a DVD of Al Snow matches. My own personal guess would be a Lars Sullivan / Tammy Sytch compilation sex tape titled, “It Was The Best of Times – It Was The Worst Of Times!”. Maybe it’s Lana without her makeup? I have a feeling that this will end up being like the infamous envelope that Baby Doll gave Larry Zbyszko all those years ago about Dusty Rhodes. We will probably never know.
In the past couple of weeks, we’ve seen the returns of The Usos, The Big Show, John Morrison and Sheamus to the WWE. Who’s next?
Well, we still haven’t seen Naomi so that’s a possibility. Ruby Riott has been spotted at the Performance Center, but she’s not really expected back for several more months at the earliest. I don’t think we’ll have any more surprises until the Royal Rumble and then, welcome back Edge. Who I’d like so see back on the TV are Heath Slater, The B-Team of Bo & Axel, EC3 and Drake Maverick. I know they’re not out “injured” and are at TV each week and WWE just isn’t using them. I’d love to see that change and let those guys return to the spotlight for a little bit.
Shoot fight – Floyd Mayweather versus Brock Lesnar. Who wins?
As long as Floyd can stay away from Brock and just throw the punches, he might have a chance, but if Brock ever gets his hands on Floyd, he’d squash him like an illiterate bug. A good wrestler can should beat a good boxer every time. Brock would destroy Floyd.
Does R-Truth belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
When he’s ready to give it up and leave the in-ring action, I think the Hall of Fame would definitely be his next stop. He’s held more titles than anyone in WWE and is a former NWA World Champion (remember that?). Truth is with no question a future Hall of Fame inductee.
Should Truth be given a run with the WWE or Universal Championship?
A long and extended run, nope. But if Truth was to win say the Elimination Chamber and the WWE title and hold it for a week or so, I wouldn’t object at all and I think that the WWE fans would go crazy in a good way. Truth has had a great career and has been a good soldier for the WWE and a few days as the World or Universal Champion would be a fantastic way to wrap up a career.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts and any questions about anything at all, are very welcome. Until the next time, take care of yourself, stay safe, go listen to SMF Cyberspace podcasts on YouTube, add me on Twitter at @Doug28352 and I’ll see you at the matches. Take care.
