When Worlds Collide – NXT vs NXT UK
Thoughts & Predictions

Coming up on Saturday, NXT takes on NXT UK on a WWE Network Special Event, When Worlds Collide. It’s going to be epic. And with that in mind, it’s time to make a few predictions. Let’s do this…
Imperium vs. The Undisputed Era
It would have been great to see this take place at War Games, but alas, that was not to be so we get it here instead. This should be a fight from bell to bell and absolutely one for the ages. I have a feeling that the WWE is setting up an eventual Adam Cole versus WALTER, maybe even for Wrestlemania. I think that the UK brand needs a win here more than Cole and friends and I think that’s how it will go. I think WALTER will stand alone for his team at the end, take a beating and then come back to snatch the victory from the jaws of defeat.
Winners: The Imperium
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley vs.Toni Storm
Toni Storm will give a great fight and will take Ripley to the limit, but it’s too soon to take the belt off of Ripley. She’s just getting settled in as the champ and I think the smart move would be to keep that title belt exactly where it is. We’ll have a great match, but in the end, Ripley will retain.
Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Rhea Ripley
Finn Balor vs. Ilja Dragunov
Ilja is a man to keep an eye on and I suspect, a future big star for the NXT brand. That doesn’t mean he’s going to win here though. I expect a good match, a strong performance by Ilja and coming just so close, but in the end, Balor remains the man and takes home the win, as it should be.
Winner: Finn Balor
DIY, Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa vs. Tyler Bate and Trent Seven
It’s a DIY reunion and I guess most would expect to see Gargano & Ciampa get an easy win here, but I’m not most people. I see Gargano & Ciampa as being distracted by other things such as Gargano’s upcoming match against Finn Balor in February and Ciampa’s determination to get Goldie back. DIY won’t be at 100% and I think we’ll see Bate & Seven take advantage to score an upset victory.
Winners: Tyler Bate & Trent Seven
WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Angel Garza vs. Swerve Scott vs. Jordan Devlin vs. Travis Banks
It’s too soon to take the title off of Garza. I can see arguments for giving Devlin the belt or maybe pulling a swerve with Scott, but I think Angel Garza will find a way and retain.
Winner and STILL NXT Cruiserweight Champion: Angel Garza
NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray vs. Mia Yim
This is non-title and will air on the Kickoff Show. Yim is good, but Kay Lee Ray has been on a tear as of late and I can’t see any reason for her to lose here. Non-title matches tend to favor the challengers but considering how this match was just thrown out there, I don’t think normal rules apply. Kay Lee Ray retains.
Winner: Kay Lee Ray
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and don’t forget to support your local Indy Wrestling Promotions. I’ll see you at the matches.
