Tossing Salt Presents:
Thoughts & Predictions
February 27, 2020
Coming up on Saturday, February 29, 2020, live from Chicago is All Elite Wrestling and their Revolution pay-per-view event. I have broken out the vintage Sister Cleo outfit and have the cards ready for action. Let’s do a few predictions and see what will be happening with the men and women of AEW. Let’s do this…
AEW Champion Chris Jericho vs. Jon Moxley.
So does the title change hands here or not? While I can see an argument for Moxley walking out with the title here, I’m just not feeling it at all. Le’ Champion has been excellent in his role as the face of the company and being the ultimate heel character. I think that for this match, Mox should dominate most of the match and take Jericho to the limit. And then, just when it seems that we’re having a changing of the guard, here comes the Inner Circle for the save, a DQ finish and a Moxley beatdown. Jericho retains and this sets up a rematch for Vegas where stipulations are added and it’s Jericho all alone against Mox. Then Mox can win the title. As for here, it’s not going to happen.
Winner by DQ: Jon Moxley (Jericho retains the AEW Championship)
Cody vs. MJF.
Cody deserves to win. Cody should win. Cody should dominate the match and kick MJF’s ass all over the arena. Guess what? MJF is going to take a beating and bleed a lot, but he’s not losing here. Why not? Because Cody has an Anderson in his corner and no one named Rhodes should ever trust an Anderson. Ole will be proud and Arn will show once more that even though he can’t wrestle anymore, Andersons > Rhodes. Then, now and forever.
AEW Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega & Hangman Page vs. The Young Bucks.
Here is where The Elite has an implosion and falls apart. Omega and the Bucks are friends and partners. But what does friendship mean when there is a title at stake? I’m sensing a title change here and the world-famous Super Kick Party Boys will treat Omega just like a nine-year-old girl and kick the Cornette out of both he and his partner, Stone Cold Adam Page. Friendships will end, beer will be consumed (by Page) and the titles are changing hands.
Winners and NEW AEW Tag Team Champions: The Young Bucks
AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose vs. Kris Statlander.
Rose just won the Women’s Championship and despite the objections of Val Venis, she’s not going to lose it anytime soon, especially not to Statlander. This should be a quick trip to the squash factory.
Winner and STILL AEW Women’s Champion: Nyla Rose
Dustin Rhodes vs. Jake Hager.
I am a big fan of Dustin Rhodes and it’s great to see him still competing at this level at this stage of his career. But he’s outmatched here as Hagar is a total beast (and a Real American American too!). Hagar hasn’t wrestled yet since showing up in AEW and he can not lose his first match. I’m sure that Dustin will give him a fight and probably shed a ton of blood in the process, but when that final bell sounds, it’s Hagar who will stand tall and have his arm raised in victory.
Winner: Jake Hagar
Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara.
Darby is the favorite here and should be the one to get the win. But I like Sammy and I want to see the sexy young future star of AEW take home the win here. And guess what? I think he will. He’s going to lie, cheat and steal, but he’s also going to come out on top.
Winner: Sammy Guevara
PAC vs. Orange Cassidy.
How is this match going to play out? PAC isn’t going to goof around and sell the comedy antics of Freshly Squeezed Orange Cassidy. That’s for sure. Luckily, Cassidy is also a very good wrestler when he chooses to be and can go move for move with almost anyone. It won’t be enough though. The former King of the WWE Cruiserweights and total bastard Pac will get down, dirty and funky like a monkey and do whatever it takes. And he’ll win in the end.
And there you go. Any thoughts, comments or questions welcome and appreciated. Are you watching this show? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments. And with that, I’m out of here. Have a great night, check out the ‘Fallen Artist’ Derk Douglas and join ‘The Movement’. And I’ll see you at the matches.
