Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Ric Flair, Jaxson Ryker, Sunny & More
June 5, 2020
Chris Hyatte, he of Midnight News fame, passed away earlier today. This is a sad time for internet marks everywhere. He was one of the first and definitely one the best. RIP Hyatte. You will be missed. Now let’s do some of the Ultimate Q&A.
If 2020 were a pro wrestling match, which one would it be?
Maybe Nia Jax versus Linda Miles with Linda McMahon & Mike Adamle as the announcers and special referee Droz. Yeah, it’s been a spectacle, but nothing good would come out of it and it would be the very definition of train-wreck.
Has Ric Flair destroyed his legacy?
Flair will always be respected for what he did inside the ring over the past forty-plus years, but as a person, I think he has damaged his own reputation and legacy quite a bit. He’s irresponsible in many ways, refuses to grow up, and will do anything for a buck. Ric Flair, the wrestler, is one of the greatest of all time, no questions about it. Ric Flair, the person, he’s way too human in many ways.
So after her latest Twitter comments, has Sunny done enough to get herself kicked out of the WWE HOF?
I don’t know what Tammy has said on her latest Twitter ramblings. She blocked me many years ago for making a joke about her then-impending jail time. But I’m sure it was bitchy, colorful, and self-serving ignorance at it’s best. But should it get her kicked out of the WWE Hall of Fame? And I say no. She’s there because of what she did as a performer in the WWF and ECW and she earned that spot. Like Flair in the previous question, the person isn’t equal to the character or what we expect of our heroes of the squared circle. Sunny earned that spot in the HOF. Tammy is a bitch at times, but no one can take her accomplishments away from her.
What are your thoughts on Nia Jax and why do you think she receives so much criticism?
I think she’s lazy in the ring, unsure of her size and strength and clumsy. She is an interesting character that could have a lot of potential for WWE, but she needs to go back to NXT or train with someone to refine and tighten up what skills she does have before someone is seriously injured or worse. And why she gets criticized is because like everything else, she deserves it.
Thoughts on Jaxson Ryker and his recent tweets about BLM and President Trump?
Thankful for the @POTUS we have! God bless America. Built of freedom. Forgotten No More.
That’s what he said and what everyone is freaking out so badly about right now. Maybe the use of his catch-phrase at the end is a little much, but this is exactly the type of post I’d expect from a former Marine, which Ryker, real name Chad Lail, is. I agree with him and am also thankful for the President we currently have, especially when you consider what the option was. I know that right now, it’s not popular to support the President or have an independent thought or opinion, especially if it involves common sense or offends the liberal left, but Lail does and should be commended for it, not insulted. Now he and Saints Quarterback Drew Brees are both being dragged over the coals for being patriotic and admitting that they love our nation and support our President. It’s their opinion and their right. It’s just a shame that having pride in your nation and President isn’t allowed anymore.
Name your top 3 wrestlers in the world right now and your top 3 of all time.
The Top 3 in the world right now, in my opinion, would be Asuka, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins (even though I hate his character). My Top 3 of all time are Bobby Eaton, Masked Superstar (Bill Eadie), and Ole & Gene Anderson, aka The Minnesota Wrecking Crew.
Is AEW teasing towards forming a new Four Horsemen?
They seem to be dropping hints in that direction and with both Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard as part of the roster, it’s a logical direction to be heading, especially with the addition of FTR to the company. I don’t think they can or would use the Horsemen name, but a faction with two managers (Arn & Tully) and a roster of Shawn Spears, FTR, Cody, maybe Tessa Blanchard and one or two others, would be bad-ass to see and could be good for the company as well.
Is Orange Cassidy the “baddest man on the planet”?
Well, he came out when Jericho asked for the “baddest man on the planet” to come to the ring so I guess, at least for this past Wednesday night, he was.
Who is the prettiest woman in AEW?
Honestly, I don’t pay much attention to the women in AEW or their looks, but if I had to choose, I think Brandi is the first one that comes to mind. Cody is a lucky man.
If you were told to come to WWE and bring five Indy talent as a team for the Survivor Series (with you as the manager), who would you take with you?
I’d stay right here in Laurinburg and round of some local talent who are among the best in the world, bar none. If Chris Steele and Scott Powers, aka The Main Attraction, were willing to come out of retirement, they’d be my first picks. They’d probably decline so I’d round up some men I know well and would be awesome to travel and work with and watch do their thing in a WWE ring. I’d get the Atlantic Coast Destruction Crew, Ethan Storm & Taz Jackson, Carolina Kidd, the team of “The Fallen Artist” Derk Douglas & “The Monster” Brad Branson, aka BD Productions, and round it up by reaching out to Georgia and my ex-roomie, Mike Youngblood. These men, with myself and the Carolina Girl in their corner, would assure WWE of a great match, some wild times, and an experience of a lifetime.
