Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Announcers, Jeff Cobb, EC3 & More
July 2, 2020
Welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Happy Independence Day to everyone in the United States and Happy Rusev Day to everyone else. Yes, it’s still real to me, damn it! Let’s do this…
Sting recently teased about a “Last Ride”. Do you think that the long dreamed of wrestling match against The Undertaker may finally end up happening?
Sting is 61 years old and hasn’t wrestled in five years. Undertaker is still active but is more retired than not and his best days are long ago. If this was to happen, it wouldn’t be a regular match, but more likely a “Cinematic Match” like the Boneyard match at Wrestlemania. It would be interesting, but I think that Sting is just having fun and blowing smoke up everyone’s ass. I think this is one match we’ll never see.
What’s your favorite wrestling PPV of all time?
A tough call, but for every great show, there was always one or two matches that ruined it for me. This one is hard to answer. I’ll go with Clash of Champions IV. The main event of The Horsemen (Windham & Flair) versus The Midnight Express (Eaton & Lane) and with a match like that, nothing else comes close.
Where do you think EC3 will end up?
Now he’s teasing AEW and has previously teased maybe showing up at ROH and Impact Wrestling. So which company will it be? I think it will be Impact Wrestling.
Who’s the Canadian GOAT and why is it Jericho?
Bret Hart may disagree and so may the Benoit fans, but I sure as hell won’t. Christian, Edge, Lance Storm, Kevin Owens, and Jinder Mahal might argue as well, but you know what? They just made the list. Jericho is Wrestling!
Didn’t Jeff Cobb join AEW? Haven’t seen him in ages. Also, Jericho on commentary is absolutely GOLD.
Cobb wrestled two matches for AEW in February, against Jon Moxley, but I don’t think he was ever actually under contract. He’s still under contract or at least was to Ring of Honor and I’m assuming that the only reason we haven’t seen him is that ROH isn’t running live shows due to the pandemic and like everyone else, he’s sitting at home waiting to see what happens next. And yes, Jericho is excellent and when he’s on the stick, everyone else just needs to shut the hell up!
Which wrestler has the worst looking tattoos?
I’m not really a judge of tattoos. I like mine, but to each, their own. I guess Cody’s ugly ass “American Nightmare” tattoo gets the nod here because it’s ugly as heck.
Was “Trent’s Mom” dropping off the Best Friends in the mini-van at FyterFest great or not?
It was awesome!
Jos LeDuc takes on Cactus Jack. Who wins?
Cactus Jack would take a million bumps and look like a billion dollars, but LeDuc was an incredible beast in the ring and would end up with the win.
Gordon Solie or Jim Ross. Who’s the better commentator?
It’s like comparing apples to oranges because their styles were so different. Solie was an analyst more than a personality, but Ross was a character in his own right. Both men knew their product and how to best sell their shows to their target audiences and are legends in the world of professional wrestling commentary.
If you could bring back any commentator from the past to call the action for WWE, who would it be?
Rich Landrum, the man who hosted World Wide Wrestling for Crockett’s NWA and Bob Caudle with Dutch Mantell doing the color.
Ernie Ladd versus Big Van Vader. Who wins?
Ladd would give Vader a good fight and use that infamous “taped thumb” to his best advantage, but the power and brutality of Vader would carry him to the pay window at the end of the night?
