Ultimate Wrestling Q&A: Excalibur, Big E, Matt Cardona & More…

Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Excalibur, Big E, Matt Cardona & More
July 31, 2020

Let’s get busy with a new edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this…

Tapes have surfaced of AEW Announcer Excalibur using the “N-Word” in the past. Should AEW terminate the announcer?

These tapes were from seventeen years ago. Who the hell cares. I don’t and nobody in their right mind should. But then again, this is 2020 and who is in their right minds anymore? Everyone is so politically correct and anything that a person has done… ever, is now being brought up and people are dragged across the coals for anything they’ve ever said or done. If AEW has to do something, do a fake investigation and maybe a month suspension like what was done with Sammy and then let it go. Listen to Jerry Lawler for example and his old promos from the Memphis days. Every week, he was far more offensive and insulting than anything Excalibur or Sammy or anyone in wrestling says today. AEW has worked themselves into a spot and probably has to do something. But I would say, let it freakin’ go!

Rusev has said that he’s done with wrestling and wants to focus on being a “steamer” instead. Thoughts?

No one is ever “done with wrestling” unless they’re dead. Rusev may have some great things going on with streaming and playing games, but sooner or later, Miro will be back in that ring and it will once again be “Rusev Day!”.

Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) is now in AEW. Thoughts?

It’s good for AEW, good for pro wrestling and good for Cardona. I’m glad to see him back on TV in a place where he’ll be used regularly and to see him working with Cody, it’ll just be a “Suite Life With Zack & Cody”. See what I did there. Woo woo woo… you know it!

Will Tony Khan become the next Dixie Carter?

No, I don’t think so. Tony appears to have some business sense, a knowledge of professional wrestling, and a functioning brain in his head, something that Dixie could never be accused of.

Should Big E get a big push as a singles wrestler in WWE?

Why not? At the moment, both Kofi and Xavier Woods are out with injury and Big E is a good talent and popular with the fans so give him a short push and see what happens. If he doesn’t get over, nothing ventured and nothing gained and it’s worth a shot. I would support this idea.

Should No Way Jose join AEW?

No way, Jose. I don’t see it happening.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions to ask, feel free, and let’s chat. Until the next time, stay safe, and don’t forget to support your local Indy wrestling and wrestlers. I’ll see you at the matches.
