Tossing Salt Presents:
Impact Wrestling: Bound For Glory
Thoughts & Predictions
October 24, 2020
It’s coming tonight and I nearly forgot about doing a prediction column. Hangs head down in shame This will be airing live on pay-per-view and FITE.TV. Now let’s make some predictions.
Impact Champion Eric Young vs. Rich Swann.
Rich Swann has been on a tear as of late with one of the greatest comeback stories of all time. But the man he’s facing, Impact Champion Eric Young, knows all about the comeback as his move from WWE to Impact and the Impact Championship has shown. I don’t see Young losing the title here. It could happen and I feel that eventually, it will happen. Swann has a major championship in his future. But right now, Eric is proving all the naysayers named McMahon wrong and I think that journey will continue. Look for an epic match but at the end of the night, EY will remain the man with the title firmly in his grasp.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion: Eric Young
Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Kylie Rae.
I haven’t been following either woman much as of late so I don’t know the basis for this feud or why this match is even taking place, but I expect it will be entertaining and fun to watch. I’ll go for Deonna to win since I’m slightly more familiar with her than Rae.
Winner: Deonna Purrazzo
Impact X-Division Champion Rohit Raju vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Willie Mack vs. Chris Bey vs. TJP vs. Trey Miguel.
It’s the classic 6-pack challenge for the Impact X-Division Championship. Let’s eliminate the definite won’t win wrestlers right off the top. Jordynne Grace, TJP, and Chris Bey won’t win. I don’t have much faith in Willie Mack either so he’s eliminated as well. Trey Miguel or the champion, Rohit Raju? Well, announced earlier today was news that Raju has just signed a new contract with Impact. Sign a deal and then lose the belt? I don’t think so.
Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: Rohit Raju
Impact Tag Team Champions Motor City Machine Guns vs. Good Brothers vs. The North vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton.
This will be the match to watch with three of the best teams in Impact Wrestling history, as well as Austin and Fulton. I’m feeling a title switch here and guess what? It won’t be anyone you expect. Look at the teams competing. One of these teams is not like the others and I’ve already noted who and why. I think that Austin & Fulton will find a way and walk out with the titles.
Winners and NEW Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: Ace Austin & Madman Fulton
Moose vs. EC3.
Moose was big, but his star seems to have fallen a bit as of late. EC3 recently made his debut for ROH and it seems he will be going back and forth between the two promotions for a while. I just don’t see either man taking a clean loss here so I’m expecting a DQ or count-out finish with both men out of control and the match ruled a no-contest. BUT, if there is a clean win, I think that EC3, through any means necessary, will find the way and come out on top.
Ken Shamrock vs. Eddie Edwards
Ken Shamrock will be getting inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame earlier in the night so he’s going to be high on the mountain and not quite as focused as he should be. In a perfect world, Shamrock should get a big win to go along with his gold ring, but this is professional wrestling and I think that Ken will be doing a passing of the torch tonight as well.
Winner: Eddie Edwards
20 Competitor Call Your Shot Gauntlet.
It’s pretty much a Royal Rumble match where the final two men wrestle a traditional match after eliminating eighteen others by throwing them over the top rope. There are some interesting stipulations involved as Heath (Don’t Call Me Slater) has to win or else leave Impact Wrestling for good. Also, Rhyno has put up his contract to get Heath into the match so if Heath doesn’t win, he’s gone too. So essentially, it’s either Heath wins or nothing. Guess what? He’s going to win. After all, the man still has kids, right? This match will be used to give everyone on the roster a spot on the card and we’ll probably see a few names we haven’t seen in a while. But when the smoke clears, it’ll be Heath and Rhyno standing tall in the end. And Heath eliminates his best friend, the man who put his career on the line to give Heath this opportunity, to win the event. So I have said and so it shall be.
And there you go. That’s who I think will be winning and losing tonight at the Impact Wrestling Bound for Glory event. Who are your picks? Will you be watching? It often gets overlooked due to WWE and AEW, but right now, Impact has some of the best action and wrestling going today. And I’m sure that this event will be entertaining and fun to watch from start to finish. Let me know what you think in the comment box.
