Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE Hell In A Cell 2020
Thoughts & Predictions
October 24, 2020
Coming up tomorrow, live on the WWE Network, is WWE’s annual trip to the fiery pits of Hell (and no, we’re not talking about Pat Patterson’s Tiki Bar). It’s WWE Hell In A Cell. And there are only five matches announced as I type this on Saturday morning. I expect that several more last-minute matches will be added to the event as the day goes by and if that happens and I happen to notice in time, I’ll update this piece with the extra predictions and new matches. As for now, we’ve got five and it’s time to channel my inner Sister Cleo and get to work. Let’s do this…
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton inside Hell in A Cell.
Drew has been dominating the feud thus far and I could see Orton, who’s doing some of the best work of his career, making the big comeback and finding a way to steal the win and claim the WWE title. I can see it, but I don’t think so. I’m expecting a brutal match, complete with blood, guts, and all of the smoke & mirrors that two men of this stature deserve. And just barely, I think, Drew will find a way, most likely a Claymore, and end up walking out of the cage with the title belt still firmly in his grasp.
Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Drew McIntyre
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso – I Quit Match inside Hell in A Cell.
Jey is not going to win here. Let’s get that straight. And I don’t think Jey will quit either. I think that we’ll see Jey and Roman put on a fantastic match. Jey will come close and get far more offense this match than he has previously. And Roman will come back, get that ruthless aggression flowing, and in the end, find a way to trap Jey in a move he can’t escape. And then either brother Jimmy, or maybe even father, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, will come out and throw in the towel. Roman wins and the battle over who rules the family continues.
Winner and STILL WWE Universal Champion: Roman Reigns
WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley vs. Sasha Banks inside Hell In A Cell.
Sasha should win here and in the usual WWE world, I could see that happening quite easily. True, she would lose the belt during her first defense as she always does, but she should win here. Normally. But this is 2020 and what is normal anymore? Bayley has really embraced her inner heel and has been amazing as the top woman on Smackdown. I don’t want to see it end. And I don’t think it will.
Winner and STILL WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion: Bayley
Elias vs. Jeff Hardy
This is the big return of Elias to action and it doesn’t make sense for him to lose here. But he’s fighting Jeff Hardy and it never makes sense for Jeff to lose on a pay-per-view although it won’t hurt him in the slightest. This match is just filler to take up space between the HIAC matches and no one will remember once it’s over. Hardy wins.
Winner: Jeff Hardy
Otis vs. Miz in a Winner Gets the Money in the Bank Briefcase Match
I’m surprised that it took them this long to attempt to remove the Money In The Bank contract away from Otis. He’s a comedy act and let’s be real here. Would anyone really want to see Otis versus Drew or Otis versus Roman as the main event of the evening? Miz versus Drew though? That could turn out to be pretty decent and fun to watch. I’ll go for some John Morrison interference and maybe even Mandy Rose turning on Otis and joining Miz & Morrison in a Melina-style role as their manager/valet. At the end of the night, there will be a new Mr. Money In The Bank and guess what? It will be AWESOME!
Winner and NEW Mr. Money In The Bank: The Miz
And there you go. As I said earlier, I’ll update with any other matches added to the Hell In A Cell event tonight or tomorrow when I get the chance. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions, feel free to drop me a line or message. Take care of yourself, watch out for the crazies, and I’ll see you at the matches.
