Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Bam Bam Bigelow, Political Flair, Austin Theory & More
October 24, 2020
It’s time to do that Ultimate Q&A thing about the world’s greatest pseudo-sport we all know and love, professional wrestling. Let’s do this…
The next PPV concept that WWE should bring back is what?
I would love to see Battle Bowl brought back at some point, but my personal favorite would be Slamboree: A Legends Reunion. I’d love to see this concept brought back complete with the Hall of Fame inductions, a couple of “Legend’s Matches” and pretty much just a night to pay homage to the past. It would make things easier for WWE on Wrestlemania weekend by allowing Smackdown on Friday, NXT on Saturday, Mania on Sunday, and Monday by allowing a new home for the Hall of Fame inductions. WWE should, in my opinion, consider it at least.
Was there a more athletic Big Man in Pro Wrestling than the Beast of the East, Bam Bam Bigelow?
I think that Vader might have something to say about that, but I won’t argue about it. Bigelow moved very well for a man of his weight and size and did things that in all honesty, he should not have been able to do. Bigelow was a freak of nature in some ways and used that to create a great career and have some excellent matches. He’s definitely in my opinion, a future Hall of Famer.
Seth Rollins versus Kenny Omega. Who wins?
This would be a fantastic match to witness and see, especially if we get the Japanese wrestling version of Omega and a motivated Rollins, preferably not hampered by WWE booking. These two guys match up well in size and in-ring ability and when allowed to be, are among two of the best in the world. Who wins? The fans would be the big winners. As for the match, I give Omega the slight edge, but honestly, it could go either way and it would not be an upset in the slightest.
Should Ric Flair get involved in politics and run for office? Would you vote for him?
I love Flair as a wrestler and performer, but no one manages money worse than Flair. Every business he’s invested in that wasn’t wrestling has gone under. I’ll go see Flair cut a promo and do wrestling stuff almost any chance I get, but I would never support or vote for Naitch in a political office. Never.
Could a sixty-minute Iron Man match get over with today’s wrestling audience? Who would you like to see wrestle for sixty-minutes?
Fans are used to short matches now so getting them to be patient and sit still for an hour of action would be hard, but not impossible with the right build and the right performers in that ring. As to who I’d like to see go for an hour, how about Daniel Bryan versus CM Punk? That match would be awesome.
The Elite Deletion match between Matt Hardy & Sammy Guevera will be taking place at the Hardy Compound. Are you excited about this match?
It seems that every time that Sammy & Matt get together for a match, someone legit gets hurt. They just don’t have that chemistry together and things tend to mess up often. But that being said, I’m a fan of Sammy and a fan of Matt’s and this match, which will obviously be Cinematic and pre-taped will probably be fun and awesome to watch. I don’t want to see either man get hurt or have their career ended, but one final match to end their feud, I can live with that.
What would be your Mt. Rushmore of wrestling bookers?
Ole Anderson, Jim Cornette, Kevin Sullivan, and Dusty Rhodes.
Ken Shamrock said in a recent interview that he’d like a match with Bill Goldberg. Would you like to see this match happen?
No, I would not. It would be an interesting match, but Bill isn’t going to put Shamrock over in any fashion and unless Ken decides to shoot on Bill, it would only end up being a trainwreck of a match. If Bill never wrestles again, it won’t hurt my feelings in the slightest.
Austin Theory “quit” NXT. Thoughts?
It’s a story to take Theory off the air for a bit and either repackage him or allow him to come back with a moment of Impact. I like Theory and I’m interested to see where this goes.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions you’d like to see answered, do us both a favor and drop me a line. Until the next time, take care of yourself, stay safe, and don’t forget to support your local Independent wrestling companies and wrestlers. I’ll see you at the matches.
