Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Renee Young, Chris Jericho, Eric Bischoff & More
October 30, 2020
It’s time to play catch-up with the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this…
Chris Jericho versus MJF has been announced for AEW Full Gear. Thoughts on this match?
The two best heels currently in AEW. It’s kind of weird that they have to fight to decide if to be on the same team or not, but it’s wrestling and I’m enjoying this storyline. It reminds me of when Jeff Jarrett had to go through the Horsemen to join the Horsemen and we all remember how well that worked out. Well, I do anyhow and it wasn’t good for Jeff in the end. I think we’ll have MJF as part of the Inner Circle in the end regardless of how this match turns out. And it will be the beginning of the end for Chris Jericho. You’ll see.
According to All Elite Wrestling News, Tony Khan has allegedly offered a deal to Renee Young & Mauro Ranallo to host a third AEW show when their WWE contracts expire. Thoughts?
Mauro is a good announcer and he likes to announce wrestling, not sports entertainment so in that aspect, he’d be a great addition to the AEW announce team, especially if he’s part of a third and new show where he won’t have to rival Ross & Schiavone for TV time. As for Renee, her husband is the current AEW Champion and she’s excellent at what she does. It’s a no-brainer.
Is Chris Jericho over-rated?
As an in-ring performer, I would say maybe. Can anyone name or remember a truly great Chris Jericho match? But as an entertainer and character, he is constantly working to stay relevant and constantly reinventing himself and it shows. Not a great wrestler, but a great sports-entertainer so is he over-rated? I would say no.
Orange Cassidy versus Sonny Kiss. Who wins?
This would be a pure comedy spectacle and could either be the greatest match ever or the absolute worst. Kiss is more flashy but lacks experience and it shows. Cassidy would win this one, no doubt.
Thoughts on Sasha defeating Bayley at WWE Hell in A Cell to capture the Smackdown Women’s Championship?
Bayley had a great run and that’s a fact. Sasha needed to win here to keep her relevant and so she did. I prefer Bayley over Sasha myself, but change is needed to keep things fresh and this was a good move by the WWE.
Thoughts on Randy Orton defeating Drew McIntyre at WWE Hell In A Cell to capture his fourteenth WWE Championship?
This one, I didn’t like so much. Drew won the belt at Mania over Brock Lesnar, but he really hasn’t had his chance or moment yet as champion in front of a live crowd. Randy doesn’t need to be champion and is over regardless of whether he holds the belt or not. I get why WWE did it and maybe once the live events resume, we’ll get a bog moment for Drew to regain the title at a big match, but it’s not something I was glad to see happen.
Eric Bischoff was back on AEW this past week, participating in the Town Hall. Should AEW hire Bischoff for an on-screen role?
I would love to see Eric back on TV regularly, but I’ll say no here. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and just a little Eric now and then makes the fans appreciate how good he truly is as a talker and appreciate the Bisch. If he was there every week, the haters would come out and he wouldn’t get the respect he deserves. Less is more, especially when talking about Eric Bischoff and his role in professional wrestling.
