It’s 6:30 on a Sunday morning and why the hell am I awake? I guess we may as well do some of that ‘rassling stuff. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s get busy and do this stuff.

Akeem versus Santino Marella. Who wins?

Akeem, also known as the One Man Gang, taking on the clown-prince of wrestling and Jim Cornette’s third favorite wrestler (after Kenny Omega & Joey Ryan), Santino Marella. I sense a lot of comedy spots here, with a lot of power and frustration by the big man to balance things out. This would actually be an entertaining match to see with both men in their primes. As for who wins, I never bet against the black man. My money would be on Akeem.

Who is your favorite authority figure of all time?

Of all time covers a lot of ground from all the “General Managers” and “Commissioners” to people like Sandy Scott, who was just referred to as a member of management back in the Crockett days or Jack Tunney, the infamous “President” of the WWF. It’s hard to pick an all-time favorite so I’ll just go with Teddy Long. After all, if I pick anyone else, I’d probably have to go one on one with the Undertaker, playa, and no one wants that. So Teddy gets the nod here.

Do you believe that Samoa Joe has any value to the WWE if he can return?

So far as in the ring goes, I think Joe would be just another face in the crowd and lost in the backstage shuffle that is the WWE roster. No major push or storyline, but just another body in the crowd. Joe has found a good niche as an announcer and, in my opinion, would be best off to just stay in that role for the duration of his WWE career.

What are your thoughts on the 2020 Wrestling Observer Awards?

It’s basically Dave Meltzer stroking it to Tony Khan and Kenny Omega and not worth the time or effort it takes to even answer this question. I’ve never been a fan of Meltzer and think he’s pretty much delusional and full of crap, but since AEW started up, he’s lost any sense of having an open mind or common sense for that matter. He’s the CNN of wrestling journalism. So his awards? Who cares. Now if I ever decide to bring back “The Saltys”, that’s a different story and matters. My opinion matters. Meltzer’s though. Not so much.

What are your thoughts about the “My Hole” stuff with Nia Jax?

To be honest, I laughed and thought it was funny. Nia may suck in the ring and be legit dangerous to the people she’s wrestling against, but she has entertaining moments every so often. That was one of them.

Is it a big deal that Sammy Guevara left the Inner Circle in AEW?

The story with Sammy versus MJF and Jericho is one of the most interesting stories currently going on in AEW at the moment. I’m a big fan of Sammy’s and invested in this story so I would say yes, it is a big deal.

Do you have any thoughts on Butch Reed’s career?

I only know of Butch mainly through his days as part of DOOM and of course, his run in the WWF with the bleached hair, but based on what I’ve read and seen via the magic that is YouTube, I think Reed was a good performer, a good talent, and most importantly, a good guy. He had a solid career, especially for a black man in the ’80’s and early ’90s, and left a strong legacy in that squared circle. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Mr. Reed.

Do you have any issues with Brodie Lee’s son being used on a recurring basis for AEW?

He’s a young kid who lost his father and is getting all sorts of support to help get past that and he’s getting to live out every child’s dream. I have no problem with it at all.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions, feel free to drop me a line, and let’s chat. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. Don’t forget to give some love and support to your local Independent wrestling companies and wrestlers. I’ll see you at the matches.
