It’s catch-up time. Damn, I’ve been getting slack. Are you ready to talk about some wrestling stuff? Let’s do this.
WWE sent recently released talent Mickie James her belongings inside a trash bag. Thoughts?
While the image this presents is not good, I think it’s been blown out of proportion and really is just a lot of hype out of nothing. WWE sent Mickie her belongings that were left at WWE. Most former employers would just trash stuff that a terminated employee left laying around, but WWE did pack it up and mail it to her. And using a trash bag? It’s convenient, practical, and it protected her belongings from being damaged so it works. And it wasn’t like they dropped the bag off on her doorstep, but put it in a box and mailed it to her. So yeah, the trashbag looks bad from a public relations aspect, but I don’t think it was intentional disrespect. It was just trying to do the right thing without thinking it all the way through.
Where do you want to see Mickie James go next once her no-compete from WWE is over?
With the recent interaction between promotions such as the NWA, AEW, and Impact Wrestling, I’d like to see Mickie work as a “free agent”, maybe capturing the NWA Women’s Championship along the way, and working all the matches as a “traveling champion”, much like her husband, NWA World ChampionNick Aldis, already does. Mickie is too good for just one promotion so use her everywhere and as the star she truly is.
Why do AEW fans hate Disco Inferno? Is it because he criticizes AEW?
People hate Disco because he’s perceived as a goof. Disco has had some wild ideas over the years and his character, which I feel was one of the best parts of that company, is looked down upon, and all of that figures in. Plus Disco doesn’t mince words and is brutally honest on calling a spade a spade, be it WWE or AEW, and when something comes across as stupid in his opinion, as AEW does quite often, he says just that. AEW fans don’t like anyone criticizing their product and when the person has a questionable past like Disco, it just becomes too much for the deranged little snowflakes to handle. Disco has his own opinions and he’s right more often than not. AEW fans just can’t handle reality, especially when it comes from the man who told the world, “It’s your duty to shake your booty!”. They need to get over it.
Does anyone else think that Samoa Joe will sign with AEW? If it was me I’d build him to be a badass.
If Joe is medically cleared and does come to AEW, I would think that he would get a strong push and be pushed as a bad-ass. But the problem with AEW is that too many chiefs and it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle, regardless of how big a push you get when you’re brought in. If Joe comes in, he’ll get a big push at the start and then settle into a stable role, probably in the upper mid-card. I think it all depends on what kind of physical condition Joe is in and what he and Tony Khan agree upon. But this is all speculation and he may not even go to AEW. It may be Impact or ROH or New Japan in his future instead. Hell, it may even be back to WWE if they decide to pull a “Drake Maverick” with him. Whatever he does, he’ll be fine and get a good push. No doubt about that.
Do you think Darby Allin has wrestling skills? And do you think he’s the face of TNT?
If he didn’t have wrestling skills, he wouldn’t be a part of AEW or the current TNT Champion. That’s a stupid question. As for being the face of TNT, I think when people think AEW on TNT, it’s guys like Jericho and Cody that come to mind first, not a face-painted skateboarder who hangs out with Sting.
Who is going to be the woman to finally take Hikaru Shida’s title?
My suggestion would be a woman I spoke of earlier, former WWE and TNA Women’s Champion Mickie James.
A completely hypothetical question here, but if CM Punk were to come back to wrestling, what are the five matches you would like to see him work in AEW?
Do I have to pick AEW stars? Damn, I was hoping to pick some great and fun matches for Punk and now, I find I’m limited to just that one company. Sighs How about MJF, Kenny Omega, Sammy Guevera, Orange Cassidy, and Jericho. Works for me.
