Ultimate Wrestling Q&A

Just waking up from an afternoon nap and I realized that I’ve forgotten a few things, like the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I hate it when that happens. Let’s play catch-up now. And away we go.

Now that CM Punk is back, who is the next big star you want to return?

Punk hinted at the return of Bryan Danielson, aka Daniel Bryan last night during his AEW promo so I won’t name him. To be honest, I want to see Joe Hennig, formerly known as Curtis Axel, and his B-Team partner Taylor Rotundo, aka Bo Dallas, step back into the ring and make their return to pro wrestling. They were capable of so much more than WWE allowed them to do and I would love to see them have the opportunity, perhaps with the NWA, to show the world exactly that. And if Rotundo’s brother, Windham, just happens to return as well, that would be great too.

Thoughts on heel Becky?

Becky is the modern-day female equivalent of Stone Cold Steve Austin and WWE has her turn heel immediately upon her return after over a year away. What the hell is WWE thinking and doing? It just doesn’t make any sense in my eyes. The women’s division has more than enough heels and needs a strong face character and the best option cheap shots Bianca immediately upon her return to the company. Bad, short-term booking in my opinion and WWE made a big mistake here.

Who should Punk feud with next after Darby?

MJF would be fun just for the promos and build, but how about a feud between Punk and Jericho, just to see two legit legends have it out over who is truly the “Best In The World”.

Which wrestler do you think can succeed in the milk crate challenge?

Kofi Kingston could probably do it as could WWE 24/7 Champion Reginald, but why would they want to? That whole milk-crate thing is dangerous and stupid.

Do you think Adam Cole will join AEW?

I personally think that financially, the better deal would be WWE/NXT and also for a chance to stay near the top of the card, but it looks as if that ship is sailing and if so, AEW would be the next best option. I’m scared that Cole will just end up lost in the shuffle there, but that seems tobe where he’s heading.

Any ex-wrestlers alive who could come back and have a bigger pop than CM Punk?

None that I can think of at the moment. Maybe Heath Slater, but that would just be from his kids.

JBL versus MJF. Who wins?

The promos would be great and a legit clinic in how to tell a story and promote a feud. Both of these guys are so good at this, it’s almost scary. As for the matches themselves, JBL would win in a shoot, but in a wrestling ring, I thing that MJF would be the strong favorite here.

Thoughts on the tag team of Paul Jones & Ricky Steamboat?

A great pairing of an experienced veteran and a young rookie that ran strong in the Mid-Atlantic region back in the late ’70s until Steamboat turned on Jones (that’s what Paul claimed until the day he died), jealous of Jones being “Number One”, and thus setting up what was a classic feud and a great heel run for Jones that lasted the rest of his career. Two good wrestlers, one slightly pass his prime and ready to pass the torch and one up-and-coming, ready to break out and be a star. It was a good combination and doesn’t get nearly the credit they deserve.

Brock Lesnar has EIGHT matches in his new contract… Who do you want him to face?

The names that immediately come to mind for me, after he gets done with Roman Reigns ad the battle over custody of Paul Heyman, I would like to see a feud with Bobby Lashley for “The Beast”. And how about Brock versus WALTER? That would totally be one for the ages.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Questions, comments, and any thoughts are welcome and appreciated. Talk to me, my peeps. And with that, I’m out of here. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
