WWE Extreme Rules PPV: Thoughts & Predictions…

Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE Extreme Rules 2021
Thoughts & Predictions
September 25, 2021

Coming up on Sunday night from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, it’s the WWE and the 2021 edition of Extreme Rules. It’s available on the WWE Network, pay-per-view, and Peacock. Only six matches have been announced as of this writing so I’m sure that WWE will add a few before the day is out. If I see the additions in time and feel like it, I’ll update this piece. Or I might now. We’ll see. So now, are you ready for some predictions? Let’s do this.

Extreme Rules: WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. The Demon, Finn Balor

It’s the Head of the Table versus The Demon and to be honest, no one should lose here. Finn should never lose while in his Demon-mode, but Roman is currently the man and shouldn’t take a clean fall for anyone unless their name is Rock or Brock. It’s a tough call and I’ll say we’ll get a thirty-minute draw. No, that was AEW and the Danielson/Omega match. My bad. How about some interference and we’ll see Seth Rollins get involved to start a program with Finn, tease an alliance with Roman, and give this match a finish where both men stay strong. Works for me.

Winner by DQ: The Demon Finn Balor (Roman retains Universal Championship).

WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair.

These two will do their best and probably steal the show. I don’t see a title change happening. Not in this match anyway. It’ll be a match for the ages and both women will look great, but when the final bell rings, Becky will still be the Smackdown Women’s Champion.

Winner and STILL WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion: Becky Lynch

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss.

Here is where the title switch will happen. Charlotte, through no fault of her own, needs to be taken off of TV for a while until the craziness about dear old Nature Dad calms down a bit. So with that in mind, It’s time for the crazy one to have her moment in the sun. Lilly will get involved of course and it will be a stupid ending, but the end results will be the same.

Winner and NEW WWE RAW Women’s Champion: Alexa Bliss

Triple Threat Match: WWE United States Champion Damian Priest vs. Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy.

Priest is on a roll here and building momentum and I just can’t see him dropping the United States title so soon. It’ll be a boom-digger of a match and everyone will hit their spots and look great, but when the dust settles, the belt stays right where it’s at, as it should.

Winner and STILL WWE United States Champion: Damian Priest

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. The Street Profits.

The Usos have the belts and will keep the belts. Maybe this will be where we see Naomi join her family and do some interfering at the request of the Tribal Chief and her family? Who knows. But this match is just filler and the tag titles stay home with the Usos remaining champs.

Winners and STILL WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Usos

Liv Morgan vs. Carmella.

I prefer Carmella, but she doesn’t need to win to get over. Her character as the most beautiful woman in WWE seems to be doing that quite well. Morgan has been MIA for a while and needs to get a win here to build some momentum. I think she will.

Winner: Liv Morgan

And there you go. I’ll update this if any more matches are added and I find out about it in time. So what are your predictions? Will you even be watching? Thoughts, comments, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, I’m out of here. My thanks for reading. Take care and stay safe and I’ll see you at the matches.
