Awesome Bacon Burgers

Well, we decided to try something new here at the Maynard household for lunch today. I wanted a Bacon Cheeseburger. And that’s exactly what we had, kind of. We had the Awesome Bacon Burger, which is plant-based burger patties. Yes, instead of the greasy, steamy, hot hamburger fried in the skillet and loaded down with essential goodies, we went healthy with burgers made of plant-based protein.

“And how was it?”, you ask. It was okay. It was different than I expected and reminded me of those soybean burgers we used to get back on our lunch trays when we were in school. It had an unusual taste, I guess mainly due to the fact that the “bacon” was embedded into the burger and wasn’t real bacon. No piggies died in the making of this burger. No cows either. It’s hard to describe the taste. Maybe pizza crust with some seasoning sprinkled on it? It’s just kind of bland to me. So the price for eating healthy and being sympathetic to the animals that are slaughtered for our food is a bland, tasteless burger. Even ketchup couldn’t save it and make it good.

My apologies to all the Moo Moo’s and Piggies out there, but if this is the alternative to having a good, hot, steaming, greasy, delicious burger, then y’all gotta die. I do not recommend this to anyone. If I want healthy, I’ll fix a salad or drink a bottle of water, but so far as my burgers go, I’m sticking with the meat. As Clara used to say in the old Wendy’s commercials, “Where’s the Beef?”. It sure as hell wasn’t here. So Awesome Bacon Burgers, made by Sweet Earth, I tried to make it work, but it just ain’t happening. See ya!

And there you go. Thoughts, comments, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks for reading. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay good. I’ll see you at the grill with some real burgers in tow. Take care.

Ubuntu!
