Are you ready for some football? If so, go somewhere else. This is about real entertainment, non-politicized, and the best bang for your buck, professional wrestling. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s get busy and do this.
No Holds Barred Match…(no disqualification) “Who Wins”
Joe Leduc “Canadian Lumberjack” or George “the Animal” Steele?
George “The Animal” Steele is a wrestling icon and he never met a turnbuckle that he didn’t like, but against Joe LeDuc, a big mountain of a man that I was fortunate enough to see wrestle many times in the early ’80s against the likes of Jimmy Valiant, The Assassin, and Kabuli, Steele would be just another victim. LeDuc was huge and legit tough as they come and there are few men that he wouldn’t have a strong advantage against, especially in his prime. The Animal would give him a fight to be sure, but in the end, the Canadian Lumberjack would end up chopping him down and taking the win.
Do you think Torrie Wilson deserved to be a WWE Hall of Famer?
Torrie Wilson is a woman of many accomplishments. She married and then divorced Billy Kidman and she won some bathing suit contests. She convinced her dad to make a fool of himself on television and to “die” in a wrestling storyline with Dawn Marie. And she… And she… I’ve got nothing. Hall of Famer worthy? Nah, I don’t think so.
Who is your favorite couple in WWE history?
Are we talking legit couples or couples put together for storyline purposes? I guess it really doesn’t matter. It’s a tough call here because I liked HHH & Steph and they really are the consummate “power couple” of pro wrestling, but my favorite, for pure entertainment purposes, how about Jamie Noble and Nidia. They were incredible and so damn entertaining. You could tell they were having a blast every time they were together and it showed and was catching. I know that Nidia isn’t involved in the business anymore, but I’d love to see a reunion of her and Jamie at one of the Legend’s shows or even in a backstage skit at Mania. That would be incredible and awesome.
Should Tony Khan have two brands and attempt to purchase ROH?
It’s a tempting idea, but Khan would be better off focusing on what he has going on with AEW right now to make it stronger and better. Leave ROH for someone else to tackle and deal with. Billy Corgan, owner of the NWA, might be interested and it’d be a good move for him to ponder, but for Khan, not really.
This past weekend, Jeff Hardy was sent home by WWE. Thoughts?
And this question was written before the news broke that Jeff Hardy had been released by the WWE. My thoughts? I don’t know what the deal is with Jeff and I don’t care to speculate. The word is that Hardy had missed some appearances before this incident where he left the match in the middle and exited through the crowd, so this is not just a one-time incident. According to the media, Hardy was offered a chance to go to rehab by WWE and since he refused, WWE had no choice, but to terminate his contract. I just hope that whatever the situation is, that Jeff is well and happy and is okay. He’s a very talented dude and based on the one time I’ve met him in person via mutual friends, he’s pretty cool too. Whatever is going on, Jeff just needs to do what’s best for Jeff and his family. Best wishes to him.
Last week on Dynamite, Arn Anderson fell off the ramp when coming to the ring. I seem to recall him falling off the ring once too. Is Arn too old to be working at ringside?
Double-A is a true icon and legend and anytime he’s on the TV for AEW, it adds to the segment, but recently, it looks as if Arn might be having some problems with his coordination. He’s had major surgery in the past on his neck and back and falls, like the one he took on Dynamite, are scary to see. Arn needs to get checked out by a medical facility to make sure that he’s not having problems with coordination and vertigo before he’s allowed back near a ring. If he’s okay and it was just an accidental misstep instead where he just stepped wrong and lost his balance, causing him to fall off the stage, just a warning to be more careful and maybe stick to the middle of the ramp rather than walking on the edge when he comes to the ring. If Arn feels he can still be at ringside and the doctors agree, then allow him to do so. He just needs to be on his toes and be more careful.
Ricky Morton said in a recent interview that he could “fix” Cody Rhodes if given the chance. Would you like to see AEW bring Ricky into the company?
Ricky Morton knows the wrestling business like few others and if he’s available and wants to come to AEW to help with Creative and work as an agent, then Tony Khan should give it some consideration and give Morton a shot. It can’t hurt and would give AEW and Khan another perspective on things, one of nearly 45 years of experience and knowledge. And hell, maybe we can get an epic FTR versus The Rock & Roll Express match from the deal as well. That would bring Cornette out of retirement for one more match and would be great to see. But this isn’t about Corny. It’s about Ricky Morton being All Elite. And I say to that, hell to the yeah.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care of yourself, be safe, and stay good. I’ll see you at the matches.
