More sinister than Danhausen trick or treating at the Dungeon of Doom, it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Kenny Omega was recently quoted as calling the WWE way of doing mixed-tag team matches Stupid. Do you agree?

I hate to agree with Omega, but he’s right. In WWE, the intergender matches, as they call them, are men versus men and women versus women. If tagging in your partner means the other team switches out as well, what’s the point? It defeats the entire point of tag team wrestling, working and wearing down one of your opponents to get the win. I understand that WWE doesn’t want men to “beat on women” during their matches, but if they’re going to have mixed tags, get over it. If a woman is threatened by wrestling a man, she finds a way to make a tag and getaway, or else she outsmarts or outwrestles them until she can make a tag. It’s common sense and good wrestling. For this one thing, I have to agree with Twinkletoes McFingerbang.

Sonya Deville is no longer a “WWE official” and will be wrestling full-time instead. Thoughts?

It’s a good move because Sonya is a good wrestler with a strong background and the “wrestling official” story has pretty much run its course. It was necessary for a while due to outside circumstances, but it’s time now to let Sonya do what she does best, wrestle. And as for the authority figure role, Trish Stratus has expressed interest in doing something of that nature with WWE, and of course, Paige isn’t doing anything at the moment so this opens up a spot on TV that either woman could easily fill.

Was Eric Bischoff as big of a genius as he wants us to believe or did he come up with two things and run out of steam?

Eric is a smart man and very knowledgeable about the world of professional wrestling. Let’s give him his due. But Eric’s strongest points are more on the business side and promotional side of the business than the creative part of it. If I was a billionaire and able to start an international wrestling company, I’d love to have Bischoff as part of my team, both as an on-air talent and working behind the scenes as a consultant. But would I depend upon him alone for the booking and creative side of things? No, I wouldn’t. So to answer the question, I would say, “Yes!”. And there you go.

Vader & Andre the Giant versus Abdullah the Butcher and Stan Hansen. Who wins?

Abby and Hansen would be fighting each other as much as their opponents. Vader and Andre would win this one and win it pretty quickly.

The Mean Street Posse versus Three Count. Who wins?

As much as I liked the Mean Street Posse, Shane’s three best friends would fall rather quickly to the threesome of Helms, Karagias, and Moore. We’d see the Posse go down for the three-count.

Whatever happened to Lars Sullivan?

After having his past exposed, Sullivan was released by the WWE and kind of faded into oblivion. He suffered from anxiety issues and depression and that made the lifestyle and grind that is professional wrestling impossible. The last I heard, he was back in the world of weightlifting and bodybuilding, although I don’t know how true that is.

Did Edge steal Alister Black’s gimmick?

I wouldn’t say that Edge stole it, but there are a lot of similarities and common factors so maybe so “borrowing” an idea or two did happen. Most likely, Vince forgot that Alister Black had used the same gimmick just a few months prior and no one had the grapefruits to tell him when he had this “totally original idea” for Edge. Who knows?

Should The New Day (Kofi, Xavier) bring in a new member for their group while Big E recovers from his injury? If so, who?

I think this would be a great idea to do, for several reasons. First, it would allow The New Day to regain that number advantage that made them stand out in the beginning. It would be a great way to push new talent and give them a major rub in a way that they might not otherwise receive. And lastly, when Big E does return, we have a story waiting to happen. What happens to the new guy now that Big E is back? How does it affect the dynamic of the New Day with four members instead of three? Do Kofi and Xavier take sides between Big E and the new member if a conflict arises? It’s good storytelling. As for who, my original thought was Shelton Benjamin, but he’s been around too long and might not fit the narrative to get new talent over. I think Odyssey Jones, from NXT, would be a good pick. I’m sure WWE could find someone for this role rather easily.

Drew McIntyre recently spoke about how WWE needs to bring back the European Championship so he can defend and then retire it. Should WWE bring that title back?

Normally, I would say no and that WWE has too many titles as it is, but with both the WWE and Universal Championship titles with Roman Reigns, the addition of the European Championship would be welcome as a title for the wrestlers to contend and fight for. And Drew would be a good person to hold this title and represent Europe in the WWE Universe. I think Drew is on to something so I would say yes, that WWE should bring this belt back into circulation.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions you’d like to see me tackle, are appreciated and welcome. Give me a shout in the comments or at my e-mail of Doug28352@yahoo.com. And with that, I’m out of here for now. Stay good, be safe, and watch out for any foreign objects. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
