I can’t think of anything witty to say so let’s just get things started. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s go.

Eddie Kingston says that he’s quitting AEW. Thoughts?

Eddie “quit” AEW and immediately started with ROH, which is owned by Tony Khan, who owns AEW. And the people in the ROH locker room are the same people who are in the AEW room, whose egos Eddie can’t stand to deal with. So what did Eddie do? Move to a bench on the other side of the locker room? Just a more convoluted AEW/ROH Tony Khan mess. Nothing more.

“Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin & “Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal
versus The Dream Team (Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine). Who wins?

This was a young pre-Freebird or Precious Jimmy Garvin and not “Lord” Steven Regal, but a talented guy nonetheless. They were briefly AWA Tag Team Champions and had a nice little run with the belts. But the opposing team is Valentine and Beefcake. It’s not even close. The Dream Team wins.

Magnum TA & Dusty Rhodes versus Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn. Who wins?

For me, the money would be on KO and Sami to take that trip to the pay window.

Thoughts on Verne Gagne?

Verne Gagne? The owner and founder of the AWA, a multiple-time champion, and a very good wrestling promoter. Verne was a good businessman who helped entertain fans in the Midwest for several decades before the world started to change and he tried to resist that change and got left behind. I was never much impressed by the few times I’ve seen him wrestle, but the AWA was a guilty pleasure of mine, even in the last few years, and Verne deserves credit for keeping it afloat as long as he did, thirty years.

Honest thoughts on Saraya?

I liked her as Paige in WWE, but she was never a great wrestler in the big picture of things. Paige was much more entertaining as a personality than for anything she did in the ring after AJ Lee. And now she’s in AEW where there are not any women sufficient to cover for her and make her look strong. She’s not good on the mic anymore and is in a poor ring shape, getting winded easily. The long layoff from the ring has deteriorated her wrestling skills quite a bit and all Tony has in AEW is just a shadow of what once was. Sad!

Scorpio Sky & Miro are both healthy and under contract to AEW, but just not being used. Why? What is Tony’s problem?

Tony spent a lot of money on the new toys but quickly lost interest as new toys were bought, such as Orange Cassidy, Saraya, Samoa Joe, and Mark Briscoe. Now the old toys, like Miro and Scorpio Sky, are just left in the toy box, wasting away.

Brock Lesnar allegedly turned down the match with Bray Wyatt for Wrestlemania. Thoughts?

I think Brock is seeing what all of us are, that the return of Bray Wyatt has, thus far, been a bomb that goes nowhere. Brock is a strong wrestler who stays on a steady and strong climb to or near the top and being forced to wrestle Bray would bring his status down and momentum to a halt. I know it. You know it. And Brock sees it as well so he said, “No way!”. I can’t say that I blame him.

Better actor: The Rock or John Cena?

I don’t think that The Rock, as awesome as he is, could pull off that Peacemaker dance that Cena performs in the HBO series. Both men are remarkable on that TV and movie screen and it’s a hard choice as to who the better actor is. My choice? The Miz. And why? Because he’s, wait for it, AWESOME! And there you go.

On Twitter yesterday, Tony Khan said, “2023 will be the biggest year yet for AEW, I have major announcements coming soon that are important to AEW & our fans!” So what do you think Tony’s announcements possibly are?

Where Tony is concerned, his “Big Announcements” can be anything. A new show? A colonoscopy for Jim Ross. Meltzer is his favorte journalist. Tony Schiavone is a fraud journalist. The water is wet! With Tony, who knows and to be honest, who cares?

If you were in prison serving 5 years, what wrestler would you have to be your cellmate and what faction would you make, and with whom?

My cellmate would be Dom Mysterio. He’s been inside and he knows things after all. And my faction in that prison yard would be The Bloodline. After all, the Usos didn’t talk about the Uso Penitentiary for so many years for nothing, did they?

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that, it’s time to wrap this all up. Take care and be well my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
