You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s go.
Who do you think will be the first AEW “original” (someone who has never been in WWE) to make the jump and win a World Title in WWE?
MJF is the obvious answer as his contract expires in 2024 and he’s been making noise about going to WWE for the past two years. But that being said, I think Kenny Omega will be the next AEW Original and EVP to jump, following in the footsteps of fellow EVP Cody Rhodes. Once Omega gets away from playtime with his buddies and to a real wrestling company, I can see him straightening up and pulling an AJ Styles path of much WWE success including World Championship titles. He just needs to be forced to wrestle and be a professional instead of a kid at playtime.
So Don Callis turned on Kenny Omega at Dynamite last night. Thoughts?
Did he? I must have yawned and missed it. Oh yeah, the screwdriver into the head bit. Just hot-shotting for no reason by AEW in an angle that will probably be forgotten in two weeks. As for Callis turning on Omega and as to why, he did use to be called The Jackal, right? Cowardly and no lack of loyalty are what Jackals are noted for. Callis is just living up to his name.
Tony Khan has a big announcement coming up next week. What do you think it might be?
It’s Wednesday? Tony Schiavone farted in the production truck? When a guy who’s as hyper and dramatic as Tony after a day in the snow says it’s a big announcement, it could be anything. Most likely though, this is about the new show on Saturday and maybe a hint at Punk’s return. That makes the most sense, but it could be that he’s having fish sticks for dinner. With Tony, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Everyone likes to talk about Dom Mysterio and his “heat”. Do you think it’s legit heel heat or is it “go away” heat? Thoughts?
Dom and Rhea have quickly become the most must-see combination in wrestling today and that heat? That’s the fans showing their love and appreciation. It’s not X-Pac heat by any means. The ratings show that Dom = money and the crowd’s reaction towards the Con and Mami, that’s as real as it gets in wrestling.
Jimmy Garvin & Snitsky are at the scene of an accident. Who’s fault, is it?
Blame it on Dom. He only did it because of his deadbeat Dad anyway. Garvin and Snitsky were just innocent victims of circumstance.
Where do you rank The Outsiders among the greatest tag teams of all time?
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were an effective and talented tag team, but when I think of them, I think of two singles stars who just happened to be buddies and team up every so often rather than a regular tag team. They’re a good team, but probably wouldn’t make my Top Ten.
John Studd versus Omos. Who wins?
Studd was a big man, but Omos is even bigger so this would be an interesting match. Omos is getting better with every match, but I witnessed Studd take Andre the Giant to the limit live and in person, plus go toe to toe with Blackjack Mulligan every night for nearly a year. I think Studd would get the win.
Early 80s Roddy Piper vs Bruiser Brody, who ya got?
Piper, in his Crockett and Georgia days, before the WWF tamed the beast, would fight anyone and take them to the limit. He was wild and reckless and damn entertaining as hell. Brody, he was Bruiser Brody, a legit monster of a man and iconic legend in every sense of the word. This match would end in a no-contest or a DQ. There is no way we’d get a clear winner here. And if there had to be a winner, I think the sneakiness that was Piper would find a way to steal a win from the jaws of defeat and then pay for it after the match with a Brody beatdown. Yeah, Piper would win.
With all of the recent celebrities wrestling, is there any celebrity that you think would have made a good pro wrestler, but was never involved in the business?
There was a pair of twin brothers in the 80s, Peter and David Paul, who went by the monicker of The Barbarian Brothers. They were bodybuilders and identical twins who made ten different movies including DC Cab and Natural Born Killers, plus had plenty of TV appearances on shows like Knight Rider. These guys had it all. Looks, personality, huge physiques, and loads of charisma. David passed away in 2020 at age 62, but if these guys had come along twenty years later, I do not doubt that they would have ended up in pro wrestling as a male version of the Bella Twins, but with muscles and personalities. Here’s a picture of these two guys. Now tell me that they don’t look like professional wrestlers.

AEW versus WWE on the Family Feud. Which 5 wrestlers would represent each promotion?
Representing the AEW family, it would be Tony Khan. Dr. Britt Baker, MJF, Sammy Guevera, and Tay Melo. And for the WWE family, it would be Triple H, The Miz, Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, and Xavier Woods. Now, get ready to play the feud.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And with that being said, let’s wrap things up. Take care and stay well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and Jackals holding a screwdriver. I’ll see you at the matches.
